Gingerbread cottages on the shore of Lake . Started as Methodist campground in mid 1800’s. In 1875 they began replacing the tents with cute cottages.

The Six Nations and Native Allies Commemorative Memorial recalls the historic ceremony of reconciliation which took place on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, 1815, restoring peace among native nations who fought against each other during the war. 16 Floral Clock

Magazine

Built 1796-99. Headquarters for Maj. Gen. Brock in 1812. May 1813 Traditional bombarded and captured by the Americans. Retaken in 1813. Rebuilt 1812 Uniform in 1937-40. Only gun powder magazine if from original fort. 18 Fort George (cont.)

19 Old The three flags flown have flown over the fort. Initially occupied by the French (1679-1759). The British gained control 1759, during the French & Indian War. The British held the post throughout the American Revolution but ceded it to the United States in 1796. Fort Niagara was recaptured by the British in 1813. It was ceded to the United States a second time in 1815 at the end of the War of 1812.
