Nobel Peace Center Activities during the Nobel Days 2018: Press Programme

This year, for the first time, the Nobel Week is part of Peace Days, an eight days’ celebration of peace and human rights in Oslo. The Nobel institutions, the University of Oslo and the City of Oslo have joined forces to invite the public to a full week of events in December. Wednesday, 5 December: Songs that changed the world

"Songs that changed the world" - is a special music happening, were the up-and-coming Norwegian Rapper MYRA will interpret and perform a song that she believes has changed the world. Mini concert and talk. Free and open for all. See more on Facebook.

Saturday, 8 December: Peace Walk

A city walk in the historic traces of the . The guided tour is in Norwegian, and will pass by the University of Oslo, Grand Hotel, the Parliament and the City Hall before is ends at the Nobel Peace Center.

Sunday, 9 December: Screening: “On her Shoulders”

Screening of the documentary about the laureate Nadia Murad, followed by a conversation with director Alexandria Bombach. (In English). More information and link to tickets on Facebook.

Sunday, 9 December: Press viewing of the Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition

Welcome to the preview of the Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition 2018; The Body as a Battlefield. The exhibition will officially open 11 December and will open to the public on 12 December. Accreditation is not required.

Monday, 10 December: Save the Children's Peace Prize Party

Save the Children's Peace Prize party is organized by and for children, where the honorary guest is the year's peace prize winner. Members of the Royal Family will attend the celebration, along with famous artists. The press can make an appointment to interview the children who organize the Peace Prize party. Monday, 10 December: Screening of the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony

The Nobel Peace Center will show the entire Nobel ceremony on a big screen. Activists, organizations and members of the public gather here for an unpretentious viewing of the Nobel ceremony. Media not accredited to the ceremony in the City Hall can meet here for a different experience.

Tuesday, 11 December: Opening of the Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition 2018

Since 2005, the Nobel Peace Center has created an annual peace prize exhibition. This year's exhibition is the fourteenth of the series and is called The Body as a Battlefield. It highlights sexual violence as a weapon in war and the work of the laureates Dr. Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad. The Peace Prize Exhibition always opens the day after the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony and is opened by the peace prize laureates themselves.
