HOUSEHOLD NAMES

DAUGHTER Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella met while studying at ICMP and now perform under the band name Daughter. After signing a deal with 4AD, their debut , ‘If You Leave’, charted at Number 16 in the UK and won ‘Album of the Year’ at the Association of Independent Music Awards in 2013. They’ve completed headline tours of the UK, North America and Australia. 2016 saw DAUGHTER their second album, ‘Not To Disappear’, hit Number 17 in the UK, and in 2017 they released ‘Music From Behind the Storm’. In 2018, singer- Elena launched her solo project and eponymous debut album Ex:Re to widespread acclaim.

LUKE PATTERSON (CLEAN BANDIT) Luke, an ICMP drums graduate, has achieved immense chart success with his band Clean Bandit. In 2014, the band maintained the UK Number 1 spot for three weeks with their hit ‘Rather Be’, beating competition from Beyoncé and Will.i.am. In 2015, the track also won a Grammy Award for ‘Best Dance Recording’. In 2016, they released the single ‘Rockabye’ featuring Sean Paul and Anne- Marie, which became their second UK Number 1 and was a huge international hit, breaking Spotify streaming records. More UK Number 1 spots followed with ‘Symphony’ featuring Zara Larsson LUKE PATTERSON (CLEAN BANDIT) in 2017 and 2018’s ‘Solo’ featuring , which also went platinum in the UK.

ÁRNI ÁRNASON (THE VACCINES) The Vaccines formed in 2010 and have garnered huge success in the UK. The band’s first album, ‘What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?’, was the UK’s bestselling debut album of 2011. Their second album, ‘Come of Age’, reached Number 1 in the UK charts and went gold in three weeks. The band has toured widely, supporting , Muse and the Rolling Stones. They released successful ‘English Graffiti’ in 2015 and ‘Combat Sports’ in 2018 – the latter charting at Number 4 with the single ‘I Can’t Quit’ named BBC Radio 1’s ‘Hottest Record in the World’. TIANA MAJOR9 With a unique sound incorporating hip-hop, R&B, gospel and funk, BA Songwriting alumna Tiana Major9 exemplifies modern British . Signed to Records and championed by lynchpin Stormzy, she’s received notable press coverage and been named one of BBC 1Xtra’s most hotly tipped artists. Her debut EP, ‘Rehearsal @ Nine’, was released in 2019, characterised by ‘pull-at-your-gut -inflected melodies and intimate lyrics’, according to Vice.

APRE Creative Musicianship graduates Charlie Brown and Jules Konieczny started writing and composing together while TIANA MAJOR9 studying at ICMP and quickly gained recognition for their distinctive sound. In 2018, the duo signed a deal with Polydor and released the single ‘Backstreet’, followed in 2019 by their first EP, ‘Everyone’s Commute’ and the single ‘Come Down’. They’ve played a variety of festivals, notably SXSW, Glastonbury and London’s Community festival, and they grace the line-up of more to come.

JORDAN SHAW Songwriting graduate Jordan Shaw is signed to Phrased Differently, which has worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, , Kylie Minogue, Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus, Britney and Demi Lovato. His topline and vocals were featured in Armin van Buuren’s 2019 track ‘Something Real’, with the single clocking up over two million streams in its first month alone. Jordan continues to go from strength to strength with a raft of new releases on the horizon.

MATT MALTESE APRE Creative Musicianship alumna and all-rounder Matt has been called everything from a prodigious talent to one of the most exciting emerging British songwriters in years. Matt signed a publishing deal with Universal following an Industry Hub-arranged session at an ICMP Careers Day. He later signed with Atlantic and his career and fanbase have continued to climb. His 2018 debut album, ‘Bad Contestant’, received rave reviews, with NME hailing it one of the best of the year.

JULIA LAMB Bass player Julia has been an integral part of Tom Grennan’s band since 2017. Tom recognised Julia’s immense talent when she attended an audition arranged by the team in the ICMP Industry Hub. They’ve played countless gigs and festivals across the continent, headlining at the , among others, and in 2018 this collaborative effort saw Tom named BBC Music Introducing ‘Artist of the Year’.
