Honoring our sister Girl Scouts from Wisconsin Troop 3055: The tragic car crash in Wisconsin involving Troop 3055 that took the lives of our Girl Scout sisters Haylee, Jayna, Autumn, and Sara Jo, and left another Girl Scout, Madalyn, severely injured as they were spending their Saturday living our Girl Scout mission has left us all wondering how we may help, honor, and reach out to the families impacted. We encourage you to honor your Girl Scout sisters in Troop 3055 in whatever way is most meaningful to you.

Here are two ways Girl Scouts across the Movement are making a difference:

You may send letters of love and support for Troop 3055 and their families to Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes, Inc., 4222 Oakwood Hills Pkwy, Eau Claire, WI 54701.

The Wisconsin Girl Scouts community has come together as a unit to support their sisters at Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes with Days of Action to honor Troop 3055. They are inviting Wisconsin Girl Scouts to participate in service projects during the month of November to pay tribute to Troop 3055’s commitment to public service and making the world a better place. That invitation is also extended to sister Girl Scouts across our Movement. Check out their Facebook page at Days of Action for more information. By doing what Girl Scouts do best, we’ll be honoring their legacy in lasting and meaningful ways.

We encourage volunteers to balance their interests and needs to participate while taking into consideration the girls’ awareness of the tragedy and understanding of the reason for the service. View this Girl Scout resource on leading difficult conversations with your girls: https://www.girlscouts.org/en/adults/volunteer/volunteer-resources/challenging- conversations.html.
