Tickets for the show are $79, $89, $99, $109 & $119. Knight has recorded two No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles, 11 No. 1 R&B singles and six No. 1 R&B albums. Knight was born in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1952 at the age of 7, she won Ted Mac’s The Original Amateur Hour TV show contest. This event marked her first encounter with fame. Later that year, she formed a musical group named “the Pips” with her brother, sister and cousins. By the end of the decade, the act had begun to tour and eventually her sister and one of her cousins were replaced. By 1961, the group released a single on the tiny Atlanta Huntom label called “Every Beat of My Heart.” In 1966, Gladys Night and the Pips signed on with Motown Records with whom they scored several major hit singles, including “I Heard It Through the Grapevine,” “Take Me in Your Arms and Love Me,” and “If I Were Your Woman.” In 1973, they left Motown for a better deal with Buddah Records. Here they achieved significant success with hits such as the Grammy Award-winning track “Midnight Train to Georgia,” “I’ve Got to Use My Imagination” and “Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me.” The group continued to have hits until the late 1970s when they were forced to record separately due to legal issues, resulting in Knight’s first solo LP recordings – “Miss Gladys Knight” on Buddah Records in 1978 and “Gladys Knight” on Columbia Records in 1979. In 1980, the group reunited, signed with Columbia Records and began releasing new material. They scored with the hit “Save the Overtime For Me” in 1983. By 1987, Knight decided to pursue a solo career, and she and the Pips recorded their final LP together, “All Our Love” for MCA Records. Its lead single, “Love Overboard,” was a No. 1 R&B hit and won another Grammy for the group. After a successful tour in 1988, the Pips retired and Knight began her solo career. One year later, they were inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. Knight went on to perform with other R&B greats, including Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, and Diana Ross as well as with legendary signers such as Tom Jones, Lenny Kravitz and Elton John. Don’t miss an opportunity to see these hits performed live in one of the most popular music venues in Santa Barbara County. Located on Highway 246 in Santa Ynez, California, the Chumash Casino Resort is an age 21-and-older venue.
