Temporary Closure of Pretty Oak Main, Mill Lane to Pretty Oak and Pretty Oak Road to Coombe Wood Road

TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the County Council of Somerset have made an Order PROHIBITING ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along Pretty Oak Main, Mill Lane to Pretty Oak and Pretty Oak Road to Coombe Wood Road. Pretty Oak Main; from the junction with Mill Lane to Pretty Oak and Pretty Oak Road to Coombe Wood Road, northwards for 60m, Pretty Oak Road to Coombe Wood Road; from the junction with Coombe Wood Road, westwards for 134m and Mill Lane to Pretty Oak; from the junction with Pretty Oak Main, westwards for 120m a total distance of 370 metres.

This order will enable Somerset County Council to carry out junction improvements, resurfacing, road markings, signing and lining in this road.

The Order becomes effective on 01 April 2014 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to last for 7 days. While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed as detailed below.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE

From the western end of the closure proceed in south westerly and north westerly directions along the A30 to the junction with the A303. Turn right and proceed in a north easterly direction along the A303 to the junction with theA358 Turn right and proceed in south westerly and south easterly directions along the A358 to the junction with the A30. Turn right and proceed in south westerly and north westerly directions along the A30 to the eastern end of the closure, and vice versa.
