Developed joint course with Communication that allows students to interact with C-SPAN staff in Washington, DC using distance learning studio. Students interact with communication students to produce coverage of public affairs events in the Lafayette area. This is the first course that teaches the C-SPAN style of public affairs coverage.

This course makes extensive use of online resources including lectures, exercises, and video examples. Students are required to predict the results of all 435 House races and 34 Senate races. This prediction exercise has been used in presidential elections since 1984 and midterm elections since 1986 using software that has evolved over the years.
