BOUNDARY BULLETIN the Official Matchday Programme of Oldham Athletic Football Club Free to Download BOUNDARY BULLETIN The official matchday programme of Oldham Athletic Football Club Free to Download Oldham Athletic vs. Barrow AFC Sky Bet League Two - Matchday 29 Tuesday 23rd February 2021 - 7pm KO HEAD COACH - HARRY KEWELL “Three-and-a-half weeks have passed since we were last in action at home and there’s a real eagerness within the squad as we return to Boundary Park under the lights tonight.” After an enforced break due to two postponements at the start of the month, this evening’s game is the third in a sequence of 12 fixtures we are due to play in a tight schedule before the end of March. We have worked hard to ensure the squad is ready for an important period in the season and, in keeping with much of our campaign so far, there has been no shortage of drama over the past week as we begin this busy run. It is a measure of our performances at both Forest Green Rovers and Tranmere Rovers that we came away knowing we deserved more against two of the strongest sides in the league. Having taken an early lead at Prenton Park on Saturday before falling behind, the players showed great perseverance to battle back and claim a point with ten men. The game will rightly be remembered for the extraordinary goal scored by Dylan Bahamboula to earn us the draw late on in the match. We all know Dylan is an exceptional talent and that moment of brilliance came as no surprise to those of us who have the pleasure of seeing his ability at close quarters both in training and in games. To be able to execute the shot as he did takes a special level of vision and skill, and I am sure you all enjoyed celebrating it at home, just as we did at the stadium. After conceding four goals at Forest Green earlier in the week, I was also pleased with the discipline we showed overall. We limited Tranmere to very little in front of goal but we still could have been shrewder with the ball and that will be key if we are to turn draws such as this into wins. With four goals in six games, Davis Keillor-Dunn is another player who we have seen excel in recent weeks. Davis has worked incredibly hard on his game over the course of the season, taking on board the advice and ideas we have given him as a coaching staff, and I am delighted that he is now getting his reward. Tonight we welcome a Barrow team who underwent a managerial change again at the weekend and for that reason we know their players will arrive here with a point to prove. Making the step-up into the EFL is always a big challenge for a newly-promoted side and while things have not gone their way of late, we saw ourselves in the reverse fixture at Holker Street that Barrow are a team not to be underestimated. With plenty of points up for grabs over the coming weeks, for us it is about looking to move up the league table as quickly as possible. The win in our last home game against Salford City saw us register back-to-back victories at Boundary Park for the first time this season and we know that getting results here will be crucial in shaping the remainder of our campaign. Everyone hopes that it won’t be too much longer before we can see you again at games such as this but the support you continue to provide means a lot to us all. We are determined to finish the season well and with no shortage of matches coming up over the next few weeks, we will be doing all we can to keep you entertained as you cheer us on from home. You will see this week that I have re-hashed an old article that I first published a few months ago with regards to Staking and Bank Strategies (some bits of it may still be the same than in its first publication). I decided to do this last Saturday night when I got out and about my beautiful cathedral city (apologies for my dodgy camerawork) for some fresh air following the news of the new UK ‘Lockdown’. I put the word lockdown in inverted comma’s as most people are still going out the house everyday so not quite sure it is he right word to use but most of us should have more time on our hands during the month of November. We should utilise any time this month for some reflection on our betting strategies and how we can best use the many bonuses and welcome offers that betting companies offer. Take a read, or a re- read, and let me know what you think and tell me if you think I have left anything of that jumps out at you. This is a collective effort to take money off the bookmakers! This week we have a few recaps of League Two bets made pre-season and also some NFL wagers made ahead of time. Talking of NFL bets, take a look at what is pictured to the right here. It saddens me to say that this is the last time you will see the NFL Magic Whiteboard. I enjoy betting certain markets in the NFL as I love the research that it entails in terms of game flow and how the match may progress.

LANCASTER CITY FC Giant Axe, West Road, Lancaster Lancashire LA1 5PE Telephone & Fax: 01524 382238 Email: [email protected] Website: www.lancastercityfc.com Welcome . WWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWELCOME Good afternoon and welcome to our Northern Premier League game against league leaders Warrington Town. We would like to extend a warm welcome to their players, officials and supporters along with the match officials and hope they enjoy their visit. It is the best part of a month since we shared the points with Morpeth in our last home game and a lot has happened since then. The disappointing FA Cup exit at Skelmersdale was followed by the frustration of our home game against Gainsborough having to be postponed the day before as a precaution following Covid concerns around the visitors. The pandemic continues to have a big impact on our league at the moment with three clubs currently not being able to play for a short period of time. I am sure all other clubs send them their best wishes whilst hoping it is a situation they can avoid themselves. However, the season has taken a turn for the better in the last week with our first win of the season coming in con- vincing fashion at Grantham last Saturday which was then followed up by a hard earned point at FC United in mid- week. Warrington have made another excellent start to the season and arrive at Giant Axe with a three point lead at the top of the table having won five and lost one of their seven games to date.

Over the past few days there have been growing reports of people purchasing refreshments from local pubs, cafes and restaurants and then consuming the goods e.g. alcohol beverages, outside of the premise or in local parks and open spaces. Businesses are also warned that they have a responsibility to make sure that their trading decisions do not encourage anti-social behaviour. Cllr Roberts warns businesses, if they see people are repeatedly buying takeaway refreshments, particularly alcohol, and consuming them right outside their front door or in the park over the road, the Council will act.
