Using data.census.gov: Customize Table
Click on the ‘CUSTOMIZE TABLE’ button.
1 This brings up the Advanced Filters menu.
2 Data Notes
Provides documentation links, an explanation of symbols, data source, and other notes.
3 Geography Filter
Allows you to add or change geographies
4 Year Filter
Allows you to add or change the year
5 Topic Filter
Allows you to add or change topics
6 Survey Filter
Allows you to choose different surveys, such as the ACS 1-Year Estimates Subject Tables or the ACS 5-Year Estimates Data Profiles
7 Code Filter
Allows you to choose different codes, such as NAICS codes, product and service codes, and commodity codes
8 Hide Feature
Allows you to hide individual columns. Deselect the check box to remove the column from the table.
9 Customized Filter Feature
Allows you to create a custom filter. Select ADD FILTER to add a new custom filter. Once you have entered the Table Row/Column, Operator and Value, select APPLY UPDATES.
To clear all custom filters, select CLEAR ALL.
Once you are done with this pane, select the HIDE button.
10 Transpose Table
Allows you to transpose the selected table
11 Margin of Error
Allows you to hide the Margin of Error columns from view
12 Restore Layout
Allows you to restore the table to the initial layout once columns have been moved
13 Download
Allows you to download the selected table in .csv format.
Please note that customizations made to tables will not carry over to the .csv download.
14 More Data
Takes you to an FTP or census website to download larger data files
15 Map
Allows you to map the data 16 If specific years are not selected, you can toggle between different surveys by selecting the Product dropdown.
