I’ve started writing our 2010 annual report for PHIP and I’ll send out a summary to all of you when it’s done. We will also send out our second annual financial report as soon as it’s completed. Please get your 2011 dues checks in the mail to Peter if you haven’t done so yet. Seriously, please buy your Frosted Party tickets as soon as you can. It’s not an easy job putting the party together when we have to guess at turnout. The New England Convention is coming up pretty soon and we would really like to send a club basket. Please help us collect items for the basket. And lastly, I will be retiring as your president when I complete my third year this August. I’m confident that we can find another Metro as crazy as yours truly, and the seven presidents before me, to guide the club into the future. I’ll talk to you more on this in the coming months. Letter from the Editors Hi All Metro Parrotheads, Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays and the company of our Parrothead Family. Just a couple of things we would like to let everyone know regarding the newsletter. We ask everyone’s cooperation with getting articles and notifications to us by the 23rd of each month for inclusion into the next month’s newsletter. This is necessary for layout purposes, and by the way, we hope you like the new layout with our club officers listed on the front page. Next, we ask that if anyone has any issues with having your picture included or if you don’t want your picture in the Parrot Press, kindly let us know at [email protected]. We will do our best to keep you out of the newsletter. Please understand that a lot of the pictures we use are already on Facebook, and we use those for that very reason. They are already out there. If you notice a picture out there that you are not too fond of, just let us know. We will make sure not to use it. Conversely if you have a GREAT picture you would like everyone to see, by all means, send it on to us. We also want to clear up any confusion regarding E-mail notifications of parties. Lots of us have parties in our homes and because we don’t all live in homes large enough to accommodate everyone, we have to limit our guest lists. If you are hosting a party or club event in your home and would like everyone to know about it, kindly notify us at [email protected] and let us know that you would like that notification to be in the newsletter. Again, if at all possible, by the 23rd of the previous month. Of course last minute inclusions may have to occur and we will always do our best for anything that is in the club’s best interest. (Remember that we also have our handy dandy Our Banana Wind E-mail notification system of anything that may have to go out to our members between newsletters) We will not automatically include E-mails about parties that we personally receive or hear about as we don’t know whether you want everyone to know about your party. We want to respect your privacy…. until you tell us not to. We try our best to get everything in that we can each month and want to let you all know that we feel privileged to be able to do this for all of you. If you have any questions, concerns, complaints or compliments, and yes…we take those too, please know that the line of communication is always open through [email protected], and we take great pleasure in hearing from everyone. And in 2010, he had another big year. What do you think was the biggest Buffett story of the year? January Margaritaville Key West celebrated its 25th anniversary Buffett performs at his Hawaii restaurant On January 13th, we launched Jimmy Buffett World 5.0, completely revamping the site to the look it has today Haiti struck by massive earthquake, Jimmy cuts video pleading for help Jimmy plays benefit shows in Tahiti and Bora Bora, raising $40,000 for a local school Buffett attends NFC Championship game between the Saints and Vikings. He played a surprise show for some lucky tailgaters before the game.

    Issue #26 Winter 2012 Business Tagline or Motto HELLO from the President's Perch CONTENTS : By the time this edition arrives, we will be almost through what has been a mild winter. I hope all of our Parrot Head members survived the winter and are ready to fly into some sunny warm weather. Things were certainly not mild or cold in our Berks County Parrot Head Club. Christmas in the Caribbean 2 In December we hosted another successful Toys for Tots party at the Christmas in the Caribbean Spruce and delivered more toys and cash to the Marines than any prior Afterparty 3 year. Things heated up even more with the 4th annual Christmas show Cabin Fever Festival 4 at the Miller Center on December 17th. The Club Trini band (Michael Photomontage I 5 Utley and Robert Greenidge) was enjoyed by all. Jimmy and the Parrots entertained almost 200 members and guests at the after party (in the Viva lounge) that included a “Quick Licks” featuring buffet and a few drinks. Through your efforts and your support of the show we raised $14,000 for Robert Greenidge 6 Crime Alert Berks. Toys for Tots 7 Winter Cabin Fever was next, and Berks Encore was the chosen charity this year. In our In Memoriam 7 efforts to make each event better than the one before, we changed a few things from 2011. Trivia 8 Thanks to the great support from Crowne Plaza and general manager Craig Poole, we held the Phledgling Phlockers 9 event on a Saturday Night for the first time.

    ONE PARTICULAR NEWSLETTER The Ophicial Publication of the Orange County Parrot Head Club Partying with a purpose for over 20 years! www.ocphc.org December 2016 Last Mango in Irvine for Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band played for the last time at The Irvine Meadows Amphitheater in Irvine on Saturday, October 22nd. The OCPHC was the national host for The Last Mango in Irvine Party. Word of the party went out on the club Facebook page and a pre-concert tailgate was planned near the event. Several club members joined the official Club RV to help prepare for the party. Much to our surprise, more than 10 additional RVs from all across the country joined us to get ready and gear up for the concert. Our old friend Jimmy Groovy showed up in costume and added to the pre-concert fun. Once inside the parking lot, Jerry Gontang played to the huge crowd In This Issue around the OCPHC event site. A.J.’s famous Cheeseburgers in Paradise were on the grill all were partying just like Bubba does in Pg 1: Last Mango in Irvine preparation for the concert. Once inside the venue, Jimmy and the CRB did not disappoint. The 26 song set included a tribute to Jimmy’s Pg 2: Andy’s Irvine Letter friend, Glenn Frey of The Eagles, who recently passed away. The show concluded in appropriate fashion with an acoustic version Pg 3: Tilleritaville of Lovely Cruise. Several club members related to the fact that they saw the first and last Buffett shows at Irvine Pg 4-7: Tales From MOTM Meadows.

    November 21, 2011 Issue 270 Inside The Awards: Robert Deaton Just shy of two weeks since the 45th Annual CMA Awards, Country Aircheck spoke with Executive Producer Robert Deaton for his thoughts on the telecast, how it all came together and several of its memorable moments. CA: You’ve had some time to process the show and maybe decompress. What are your Robert Deaton thoughts in hindsight? RD: A lot of credit needs to be passed around because there are so many people – starting with the artists – who make it happen, but I feel like this was our best effort. Going into the show, what I really wanted to do was not compromise at all with Pub Scouts: EMI Nashville’s Eric Church buddies up with the backstage crowd at last week’s Chief Deconstructed show at Joe’s Pub in Chicago.     Bama Breeze Jimmy’s latest CD is scheduled to be released on October 10. Award winning bassist Glenn Worf, Mobile native Will Kimbrough, Little Feats’ Billy Payne, and Party At The End Of The World slide guitar master Sonny Landreth joined Jimmy and the resident Coral Weather With You Reefers in Key West last February at what was then the Party At The End Of The World. We knew better than to refer to it as such so early, but it Everybody's On The Phone was a working title. It even has segments searching for the next new musical stars in “CarmelFest Has Talent”. Steve Greenberg, volunteer manager of the North Stage for this year’s CarmelFest is excited about this year’s lineup. “We have a varied lineup for July 3 on the North Stage, including The Jennerators, a classic rock outfit; Kenny Phelps, who masters jazz and rhythm and blues; the Doug Henthorn Band, who is bringing a tribute to Tom Petty; and Mac McAnally, reigning Country Music Association’s Musician of the Year. Mac is also a sideman in Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band. This set showcases him playing all manner of stringed instruments and piano. He will be the perfect closer to the first day of the festival!” The Gazebo stage on the 3rd brings CarmelFest Has Talent, the Josh Kaufman Band of “The Voice” fame, and the ever popular Wright Brothers classic country band. “July 4 brings some CarmelFest favorites back to the North Stage,” continues Greenberg. “Alternative rock band Phone Club, country outfit Airstream Betty, rockers The Cosmic Situation and tropical rock band Dwight Lightning and the Conch City All-Stars all precede My Yellow Rickshaw.
