MAY NEWSLETTER

Dear parents, I hope you are all well.

I wanted to start off by thanking all of our dedicated Coaches, Parents and Kids for getting back to football after the horror year we’ve all had. We have all suffered loss of family/friends and also suffered fnancially, my thoughts are with all of you who have been effected and the club is always here for any help we can provide. It's good to talk. Just reach out!

I wanted to take the time to update you all a few things that have come up over recent weeks and what we, as a club, have done and are continuing to do for the kids. There are some exciting things happening in the background too!

Registration I have extended the Registration deadline until Friday 21st May for those who haven't yet gone online to register. Thank you to those who have paid in full. For those who have paid the £50 deposit we will be asking for the balance to be paid by 31 July 2022.

Kits There are some questions regarding the reason we are getting new kits and also around sizing of the new kit. The main reasons we are getting a new kit are: - All kit manufacturers (Macron, Nike, etc) have an end date on each kit model and they come out with new models. Once a kit lifecycle is up we can no longer purchase that model/style. The current kit model is at the end of its manufacturing cycle. - Another reason is that we have had the same kit for 2 seasons now. - Also the majority of teams will have new sponsors on the front and a lot of kids will want to change their squad numbers.

Sizes I have had confrmation by Macron that the cut and sizing of the new kit is the same as the current kit we have. Their advice is: - If the current kit fts comfortably with space to grow then order the same size as the kit you have. - If it is coming up just right or a bit tight then order the next size up.

There is also a size chart on the last page of this document for you to see exact measurements.

Any questions please can you email Marion on [email protected]

Registration & Sponsor Money As you know we are a non proft football club and we currently have 17 teams at GFA. Every penny that we receive from player registrations and from sponsors, goes towards the running of the club and its teams. Without this the club cannot remain sustainable each year.

As a club I want us to have transparency so parents are informed, please see below how these funds are invested and what our club expenses are, for example this month alone the club have invested £4,000 on new footballs, bibs, frst aid kits and we have also upgraded all our Samba goals.

- League affliation & team entry fees - County FA affliation & team entry fees - First Aid kits - Whole club platinum public liability insurance - Whole club platinum personal injury insurance - Coaches and club offcials DBS checks - League fnes throughout the season - FA County fnes throughout the season - FA coaching courses for the continued development of our excellent coaches - Match day pitch hire at Roding Rec (1 x 11v11, 1 x 9v9) all paid for up front each year - Match day pitch hire at Willingale Road (2 x 7v7 and 1 x 5v5 pitches) all paid for up front each year - Midweek 3G training pitch hire for all teams from October to April all paid for up front each year - New equipment including, New Footballs, Bibs, Cones, Markers, Mannequins, SAQ ladders, Replacement goals and goal parts, Nets, Corner fags, Respect barriers, Slalom poles, Mini Samba target goals and more - Coaches uniforms - Payment transaction fees (LoveAdmin & Stripe) - Referee fees for u13s upwards - End of season presentation day venue hire - End of season trophies for all children - Entry into at least one end of season tournament per team - Postage and stationary - Advertising and marketing for new players and new coaches - Player kits & uniforms

All of this comes to an approx cost each year of £40,000, which is a huge amount of money.

Even if we didn’t purchase new kits it wouldn’t effect the income & expenditure of the club as kit money is net and the club doesn’t make a penny from them. What comes in goes straight out.

Club Development Committee & New Home Ground We have appointed a new Club Development committee which is a collection of Coaches and Parents working together with the sole purpose of improving the club as a whole and also trying to get a Home Ground for GFA.

We have identifed some sites that may have potential and we are working towards getting this important task done for the future of your club.

We have prepared proposals for Loughton Town Council, Epping Forest Council and Davenant Foundation School to see if we can get a long term lease on one of their sites.

I have been in constant contact with Nick Emery from Essex County FA and also the Football Foundation. These organisations will assist us in our project.

We will of course need to raise funds for this through applications to Lottery Funding & the Football Foundation but we will also need to run fund raisers, GFA tournaments, Summer Festivals and hopefully receive kind donations from companies we approach with an active corporate social responsibility.

Of course any help and advise from any parents would be happily received in this task, feel free to contact me any time.

These are exciting times for the future of your club and myself, along with key members of our team, are working tirelessly to make the dream a reality.

Id like to say a massive thank you to you all for your patience and understanding and, of course, to the local businesses and parents who have already signed up to be sponsors of your teams for the 2021/22 league season! THANK YOU

Best Regards Alex Skamiotis
