[email protected] Friday the 13th of July 2018 ‘Pride in London’ London LGBT+ Community Pride CIC, PO Box 71920, London NW2 9QN Dear Pride in London organisers, I write to you to present you with an Open Letter signed by over two thousand members and friends of the LGBTQ+ community in Britain and around the world. The letter condemns the transphobia that led the parade during Pride in London 2018, it calls for a full apology from Pride in London, it also calls for a change in the Board at Pride in London, to ensure that the failings that allowed the horrific exclusionary behaviour that was front and centre on Saturday never happens again. Signatories to the Open Letter are as diverse as our community itself, amongst the signatories are politicians, doctors, activists, teachers, trade unionists, prison officers, students, and so many more. There are signatories with long histories of campaigning for Equality, and there are signatories from members of the community who are in the closet. I sincerely hope you will hear the concerns of the community, that will truly apologise without the ifs and the buts, and that we will see genuine meaningful change, to ensure transphobia is not given a platform at Pride again. We have united to say there is #NoPrideInTransphobia, I hope you will stand with us. Yours, Aimee Challenor 20-year-old student Photographer Politician Trans woman. Letter condemning exclusion at Pride in London 2018 We the undersigned, members and friends of the LGBTQ+ community, condemn the horrific exclusionary behaviour that took place at Pride in London 2018.
