The teams and drivers of the National Trans Am Series will race for the reborn Tasmanian Ten Thousand at Baskerville Raceway.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the Tasmanian Ten Thousand was the premier Baskerville race event contested by the iconic Sports Sedan category and legendary drivers such as , , Jim Richards, John McCormack and Garry Rogers.

The modern-day Tasmanian Ten Thousand will fill Baskerville Raceway with the rumble of V8-powered Mustangs, Camaros and Dodge Challengers, as a national field of Trans Am racers fight for a $30,000 prize pool including $10,000 for the feature race winner. Despite being Australia’s longest continuously running circuit, Hobart’s Baskerville Raceway is a track that few current drivers from the mainland will have seen before, much less raced on.

Australia’s southernmost racing circuit is a classic, character-filled gem. Situated in a natural amphitheatre, it’s compact, fast and undulating. Tasmanian racing legend John Bowe even likens parts of Baskerville to a ‘mini Bathurst’.

The Hobart leg of Race Tasmania will witness a new concept – the inaugural Motorsport State of Origin featuring a unique series of 1-v-1 races with Trans Am machines.

Two cars, five laps and pride on the line between Tassie and the mainland.

A separate group of cars and drivers to the regular Trans Am field will contest the Tasmania v Mainland races. ▪ Enjoy expansive track views in an informal, comfortable space with unreserved seating ▪ Gourmet Tasmanian fare including premium, chef-prepared beef or salmon on a BBQ grille, complemented by fresh salads and beverages (soft drink, beer, wine) ▪ Visit and insights into the day’s racing from a professional driver competing in Race Tasmania ▪ Pit Lane Walk and viewing of teams in operation ▪ Saturday and Sunday tickets in a 2-Day package can be allocated to different guests ▪ No minimum or maximum number of ticket purchases apply
