Set Up Directions and Game Play Cell Number Obstacle Question: In which cell is Moses located? Answer: 5 or five Teacher Directions: • Print all the documents listed in TOP SECRET Documents • Provide the materials to the students when the slide below appears Finding the Answer: • Students will analyze the “Official Criminal Records” to find the correct Moses. • Each Criminal Record has one error and can be eliminated. • The only difference between the Moses in cell 5 versus the one in cell 1 is the fingerprint – if this will be too challenging for your group, eliminate the Moses in cell 1 from the game. Possible Hints: • Look for differences among the “Official Criminal Records”. • Have you read _____? Finding the Answer: • Students will need to roll the Letter to Aaron to see the location listed on the back. • The other documents will be used for other obstacles. Possible Hints: • Reread the letter. How would this letter have been delivered? • Look at all the materials you have carefully. (all sides, different angles) • Can you manipulate any of the materials to help you find an answer? Color Code Obstacle Question: There is not a question for this obstacle. When completed, this obstacle clarifies what needs to happen to complete mission (this clue doesn’t have to be completed to successfully finish the game). Answer: Hello Friends. Thank you for risking your lives to come and find me. I was lucky and managed to escape my cell and have gone into hiding. I have left a series of clues to help you find your way to the hideout so we can leave Egypt. Teacher Directions: • All printed materials for this clue have already been given out: ▪ Color Code Clue – Red ▪ Color Code Clue – Green ▪ Color Code Clue – Purple ▪ Color Code Key Finding the Answer: • Students will use color key and the three colored lists to unscramble the sentences. • The first word on the red list goes on the first red line. The second red word on the second red line. This continues for the entire list. Repeat process for each color. Possible Hints: • Do you see red (or green/purple) anywhere else in your materials? • Is there a way to organize those words to create a message? Hideout Directions Obstacle Question: How do we get to the hideout? Answer: west, south, west, south, east Teacher Directions: • All printed materials for this clue have already been given out. Finding the Answer: • Students will need to search the bath house for clues to mark on their map. • There are coordinates for the hideout, as well as places they need to avoid hidden in the bath house. • They will need to decipher the directions to the hideout by following the only open path on the map. Possible Hints: • How could you use these coordinates? • Where would these dangers be located on the map? Which Door Obstacle Question: Which door should we enter? Answer: Door to the right – with blood on the sides and top of the doorway Teacher Directions: • All printed materials for this clue have already been given out. Finding the Answer: • Students will search the bath house for clues. • They will find the verse reference Exodus 12:22. • This verse indicates how they Israelites were to mark their doors (above and the sides). Possible Hints: • What information did you find in the bath house that you haven’t used? • Read the verse out loud. What specific directions were given? One TRUE God’s Name Obstacle Question: What is the name of the One TRUE God? Answer: El Shaddai Teacher Directions: • Print all the materials in Envelope Documents • Provide the materials to the students when the slide below appears Finding the Answer: • Students will need to place the plagues in chronological order on the map. (Correct Order - blood, frogs, gnats, flies, livestock, boils, locusts, darkness, first born dies) • Each Egyptian god is targeted by a plague. Students will match the Egyptian god to the plague using the One TRUE God Mat. (Correct Order - Hapi, Heket, Geb, Khepri, Hathor, Isis, Nut, Neper, Ra, Pharaoh) • After they are ordered, the students will notice a symbol under each god. • When they use the cipher to decode the letters, it will spell El Shaddai. Possible Hints: • What plagues occurred? Which plague happened first? • Does that plague seem to target one specific god? • What similarities do you see between the plagues and the gods? • What do those symbols mean? • Have you used all of your resources provided in the envelope? .
