INSPECTION REPORT – A Society Inspector appointed by the Board must inspect First Cross (mares and geldings), Special Merit (mares, geldings or stallions) and ASB (mares and stallions) after the horse has been branded. The options for inspection are as follows: LOCAL AREA INSPECTOR – An Inspectors’ list is available on the Society’s Website – page, click Inspections. The horse must be inspected prior to lodging an application. Inspection fee is paid to Inspector. The Inspector must not have a pecuniary interest or conflict of interest with the owner or horse to be registered. IDENTIFICATION OF HORSE DIAGRAM OF HORSE - The brands and all markings must be accurately illustrated on the diagram of the horse. Any indentations, scars or hair whorls must be indicated and labelled accordingly. HORSE MUST BE BRANDED.

WHITE MARKINGS – shaded in, accurately defining the shape of the marking on forehead, near and off views.  BRANDS are compulsory (Freeze or Fire) – a Registered Stock Brand (or personalised stock brand), an Identification Number (top number) and a Foaling Season Year Number (bottom number).

COLOUR PHOTOGRAPHS – RECOMMENDED (not compulsory) for ALL registration types. Photographs will become the property of The Australian Stock Horse Society Limited. They should include the front, near and off sides of the horse, showing as many visible markings as possible, including white markings, brands, scars, etc.

GENETIC DISORDER TESTING (OLWS, HYPP, HERDA, PSSM1, MH, GBED)  TESTING REQUESTED All female and entire progeny born prior to 1st August 2020, being progeny of horses testing positive to a Genetic Disorder (carrier or affected), must be tested and the results will be NOTED on the horse’s registration and the Online Stud Book. All female and entire progeny born after 1st August 2020, being progeny of horses testing positive to a Genetic Disorder (carrier or affected), must be tested for Genetic Disorders and results must be NEGATIVE to be accepted for registration. Effective Immediately, ALL stallions/colts (any age) being Sire Registered will require Genetic Disorder testing. Any horse that returns a Positive Test as a carrier or affected for a Genetic Disorder will be REJECTED for Sire Registration.

TRANSFER APPLICATION (Transfer of horse being registered on this application) NOT REQUIRED - if the progeny is being registered by the membership that owned or leased the dam at time of foaling.

NOT REQUIRED - if the Member registering the progeny, purchased the progeny as a foal at foot (under 365 days old), with the dam.

REQUIRED - If the member registering the progeny is different to the membership that owned or leased the dam at time of foaling and a transfer fee will apply.
