Dear Sir/Madam,

Opening of Viaduct on 18 February 2017

We thank you for your continuous support towards the construction of the Tuas West Extension project.

As announced on 19 Jan 2017, the Land Transport Authority will open the Tuas Viaduct from 6am on Saturday, 18 February 2017, to enhance transport connectivity to businesses in Tuas.

The 4.8km-long viaduct, which forms part of the Tuas West Extension project, is the first integrated road – rail viaduct. It will provide an alternate route to Tuas South by allowing motorists to by-pass the at-grade Pioneer Road. There will be five ramps (two up-ramps and three down-ramps) along the viaduct. Please refer to Annex A for the key plan of Tuas Viaduct.

New directional signs will be placed to guide motorists. During the initial opening phase of the Tuas Viaduct, traffic marshals will also be deployed and additional directional signs will be placed. Motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance and follow the directional signs and traffic wardens on site to help them navigate to their destinations.

Changes to Traffic Scheme

A new U-Turn has been provided at Tuas Road for vehicles coming from via the Tuas Underpass and for public buses coming from heading to Tuas Avenue 3 and Tuas Avenue 5. Please refer to Annex B for the plan.

The following changes to traffic scheme will take place with effect from 11 February 2017:

 No right turn to Pioneer Road from Tuas Avenue 2

 No right turn to Pioneer Road from Tuas Crescent

With the opening of the Tuas Viaduct on 18 February 2017, motorists may wish to note the key changes as shown in Annex C and Annex D respectively.
