Key highlights Global chemical output (excluding pharmaceuticals)1 grew by 3.6% in 2015 reaching USD3tln. Declining oil prices stimulated production by reducing prices of feedstock. However, production was hampered by poor economic performance across emerging countries (especially Russia and Brazil). China continues to be the driver of growth despite economic slowdown. By 2030, global chemicals sales are expected to reach EUR6.3tln, with pesticides and specialty polymers being the main drivers of growth. China’s share of the global market will increase to EUR2.75tln or 44%, while the EU, North America, Japan and the rest of Asia are going to lose their relative share of the market despite growth in absolute terms. For Kazakhstan the Millennium Development Goals are the long-term goals, which are closely related to the National Development Strategy “Kazakhstan-2030”. The problem of supply of population with drinking water is reflected in such national documents as the Conception of the Water Economic and Political Sector Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2010, the Strategy for Industrial and Innovation Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2003-2015, as well as the Water Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan carries out a systematic work on water supply and sanitation in the framework of the sectoral Program “Drinking water” and the National Program on Development of Rural Territories. Under these programs the construction and reconstruction of the water supply systems in urban and rural areas is carried out. For the next 10 years of the program implementation 115 billion tenge are planned to be allocated from the republican budget. At the same time the factors inhibitory to stable and successful programme implementation are the following: a high level of deterioration of water supply networks and units, insufficient development and equipment of the water pipes traffic departments, as well as insufficiency in reliable official data on the accessibility of drinking water to population of Kazakhstan. -

For Kazakhs the summer has traditionally been the best time for merry-making. They often sing and dance during summer nights on the pastures. The relevance of the study is due to the insufficient study of the Kazakh song folklore of the south-western part of Zhetysu, represented by eight districts of the borderland of Almaty and Zhambyl regions with Kyrgyzstan. This article is aimed at identifying the genre composition of the song folklore of the local tradition, the conditions of its existence, as well as the peculiarities of their musical-poetic structure and musical language. The results of this research are a contribution to the musical archeology of Kazakhstan. They can also be used in the study of the stylistic originality of the song folklore of the Kyrgyz and Uzbeks living in the border regions of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
