With R&B and gospel overtones A-train Live! soul- style grooves from the bottom up where jazz, blues and gospel meet. Drawing from artist like Jimmy Smith, Lee Morgan, Cannoball Adderley and to name a few. A-train Live! Starts with a strong bass then with great playing from Dan Graham (piano), then a great groove from Craig White (Drums), together we do a brilliant job of folding R&B and gospel flavors into an effort to appeal to a broad audience. “The material here is rousing, strong, and shows Boynton’s confidence in making what some have found to be a somewhat difficult task, an easy transition from one genre to an- other. It also shows his competency as a writer, as well. Of course, his R&B/gospel roots don’t hurt at all. This is one to expect to be on the charts quickly and for a while. – Ronald Jackson” Smooth Jazz Vibes http://www.smoothvibes.com/movabletype/archives/2011/02/what-were-liste-55.html

“…song that sounds like the police (Message in the bottle). The forelast track 'Lots of Money' is a heavy track with a great bass solo by Alexander. It has some chinese in- fluences? Alexander, xiexie (Pronounced Che Che is Chinese for Thank you) for this su- perb album. Mark Berbiers”

“P E T E R * B O E H I Alexander Boynton Jr. - Doo Bee Doo Bop “This album is a sensational slice of smooth jazz, where did this bass player hide until now? Every song is a winner, and guest players like Jeff Lorber, Paul Jackson Jr., Tony Maiden, Rick Braun, Phil Perry, Jeff Golub, Mi- chael Thompson, Tony Moore and Lenny Castro indicate top-notch musicianship. One of the best releases of recent times!” http://www.smoothvibes.com/movabletype/archives/ cat_in_our_cd_players_this_month.html

“Alexander's pumpin' bass together with the synth sounds, guitar licks, and piano work by mister Lorber makes 'Frisky Boogaloo' a favorite. The album’s title track 'Doo Bee Doo Bop' is another mid-temp smooth jazz tune with the well know instruments it even got a great bass lick in it (too short).

Starportrait” “This smooth jazz album is timeless. It's created in 20 but could have been recorded in the late eighties. The first tune 'Beyond the Gate' is a smooth jazz track filled with even jazzy trumpet on a bass filled groove. Track 'So Long Ago' is an instrumental smooth jazz track with that typical 'Miles' trumpet sound.” Songs
