The Study Tour and Investment Summit (“The TOUR”) is from Friday-Saturday, 3-4 December, 2010. Held in conjunction with Shenzhen’s Mega Investor event, Asia Trader and Investor Convention @ Futian, Shenzhen, the TOUR offers first-hand exposure to the current growth climate in Shenzhen and the opportunity to meet key industry players as well as to gain an insight into the vibrant economic sectors in Shenzhen. Shenzhen today is the leading manufacturing hub of China and the masterplan from the Central government which was announced on 3 rd September, 2010 is to keep Shenzhen growing for the next 30 years with the building of the “Manhattan” of China at Qianhai, Shenzhen. Bloomberg News Shenzhen to Invest 40 Billion Yuan in Qianhai September 02 , 2010, 8:52 PM EDT By Bloomberg News Sept. 3 (Bloomberg) -- The southern Chinese city of Shenzhen plans to invest 40 billion yuan ($5.88 billion) in its Qianhai area to make it the “ Manhattan ” of the Pearl River Delta, the Securities Times reported today, citing the local government. The investment in the 15 square kilometer area of the city will be made over the next three years, the Shenzhen-based newspaper reported. The government is looking at the possibility of offering a low tax regime similar to Hong Kong’s and of allowing free convertibility of the yuan in the area, according to the report. Does this press release catch your eye? Manhattan of the Pearl River? Low Tax Regime? Free Convertibility of the Yuan? With its first CBD successfully launched in Futian, Qianhai is planned to be the second CBD with land size 40% of Singapore. It will surely attract even more foreign investors to Shenzhen where currently 16 million people reside since it was made a special zone city by Deng Xiao Ping 30 years ago. Shenzhen Study Tour and Investment Summit, 3-4 December, 2010 Page 2 of 6 Co-organizers: Shenzhen Municipality Government and NextVIEW Group The recent announcement by the Central government to lower corporate income tax will also help to create a favourable investment environment that provides more incentives for investment opportunities to take root. Shenzhen currently has some of the largest China companies which mean they either have corporate or personal interests to invest. This group serves as good targets for foreign companies to focus on to conduct business with. As the population grows more affluent and wealthier, they are looking for investment opportunities as well as means to grow their wealth either using tools or business or even purchasing properties overseas for their next generation. Therefore, ATIC 2010 @ Shenzhen will bring together a group of international participants consisting of fund managers, private equity investors, high net worth investors, directors of securities brokerage firms as well as senior executives of global stock exchanges to Shenzhen for an in-depth look at the Shenzhen capital market, as well as to network with Shenzhen government officials, fund managers, securities brokerage firms and listed company CEO’s and companies looking to expand overseas, which are invited by the Shenzhen organisers. In addition, with a focused contingent from Malaysia to support on both Property and IT capabilities from Malaysia, the bridge between Shenzhen and Malaysia can be solidly strengthened with this most auspicious event. This platform provides a timely and strategic platform to convene investors to discuss strategies, leverage opportunities and explore potential cross-borders business partnerships. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This is a strategic, informative and concise program designed for senior representatives or professionals with Financial Services Organizations such as Fund Management Houses, Securities Brokerage Firms, Securities Exchanges and other finance-related institutions. The group will also include high net worth Investors as well as invited Shenzhen and international VIP guests of the Shenzhen Municipality Government (this year dedicated efforts to invite all throughout China from Beijing to Shanghai) and the NextVIEW Group (Asean, Hong Kong & East Asia).
