1 Was ist Shito-Ryu Karate Do? Shito-Ryu Karate Do ist eine der 4 Hauptstilrichtungen des Karate. Während das Shito-Ryu in Deutschland nur eine kleine Stilrichtung ist, stellen weltweit die verschiedenen Traditionslinien des Shito-Ryu Karate Do die insgesamt mitgliederstärkste Karate-Stilart dar. Die anderen großen Stilrichtungen sind das Shotokan, das Goju-Ryu und das Wado-Ryu. Neben diesen 4 Hauptstilrichtungen gibt es noch eine große Zahl weiterer Stilrichtungen, Systeme und Familienformen des Karate. Alle führen jedoch ihren Ursprung zurück nach Okinawa (früher auch als die Ryukyu Inseln bekannt) und die dort entstandene Kampfkunst. 2 Geschichte des Shito-Ryu Karate-Do 2.1 Shodai Soke Mabuni Kenwa Das Shito-Ryu Karate-Do wurde von KENWA MABUNI (geboren am 14.11.1889 in Shuri auf der Insel Okinawa), dem 17. Abkömmling des Fürsten ONIGUSUKI , einem legendären Feldherren des Königreiches Ryukyu (alter Name von Okinawa), gegründet. Im Alter von 13 Jahren begann KENWA MABUNI das Studium des Shuri-te, auch Shorin-Ryu genannt, bei dem in Shuri ansässigen berühmten Meister YASUTSUNE (A NKO ) I TOSU (1830-1915), einem Schüler von Meister SOKON MATSUMURA (1792- 1887). Aus dieser Schule ging auch GICHIN FUNAKOSHI (1886-1957), der Begründer des Shotokan Karate-Do hervor. Mit 20 Jahre begann KENWA MABUNI mit dem Studium des Naha-te, auch Shorei-Ryu genannt, unter der Leitung von Meister KANRYU HIGASHIONNA (H IGAONNA ) (1853-1915) bei dem er durch seinen Freund CHOJUN MIYAGI (1888-1953), dem späteren Begründer des Goju-Ryu, vorgestellt wurde. Nach Beendigung seines Studium und des Militärdienstes trat KENWA MABUNI in den Polizeidienst. Diese Tätigkeit erlaubte ihm die verschiedenen Regionen Okinawas zu besuchen um außer dem Karate-Do auch die anderen verschiedenen klassischen Kampfkunstschulen der Insel, zusammengefasst unter dem Begriff Ryukyu-Kobudo, zu erlernen. Für längere Zeit war er auch Schüler von Meister SEISHO (K AMADEUNCHU ) A RAGAKI (1840-1918), der einen ähnlichen Naha-te Stil wie Meister KANRYU HIGASHIONNA lehrte. Von ihm lernte er mehrere Karate und Kobudo Kata ( Unshu , Sochin , Niseishi , Arakaki-sai und Arakaki-bo ), sowie Bo-Jutsu von Meister SOEIHI und Sai-Jutsu von Meister TAWADA . In den 1920ern lehrte KENWA MABUNI zusammen mit CHOJUN MIYAGI (Naha-te), CHOYU MOTOBU (Shuri-te und Gotende , das Kampfsystem des alten königlichen Hauses von Okinawa), CHOMO HANASHIRO (Shuri-te) und JUHATSU KIYODA (Naha-te) in dem berühmten Ryukyu Tode Kenkyu-Kai (Okinawa Karate Forschungsverein). Hier erlernte er auch einige Formen des Weißen Kranich Kung-fu Stils (Fukien 'White-Crane-Fist') und des Pangai-Noon (hart und weich) von dem in Okinawa lebenden chinesischen Händler Meister WU XIAN GUI (GO KENKI ). Die Hauptlehrer von Soke Mabuni Kenwa Meister YASUTSUNE (A NKO ) I TOSU Meister KANRYU HIGASHIONNA (H IGAONNA ) (1830-1915) (1853-1915) Meister SEISHO ARAKAKI Meister WU XIAN GUI (G O KENKI ) (1840-1918) Soke Kenwa Mabuni links im Hintergrund Nachdem Meister GICHIN FUNAKOSHI 1922 das Karate in Japan vorgestellt hatte, be-suchte auch KENWA MABUNI die japanischen Hauptinseln zu mehreren Vorführungen seines Karate-Do. Er verbrachte viele dieser Reisejahre mit seinem Freund und zeitweiligem Schüler KOYO KONISHI , dem späteren Begründer des Shindo-Jinen-Ryu Karate-Do. Ein Großteil dieser Zeit hielt er sich in Osaka auf, wo er in mehreren Dojo Karate-Do unterrichtete. Unter anderem lehrte er auch am Seishin-kai , der Schule von Meister KOSEI KOKUBA an der auch Meister CHOKI MOTOBU lehrte. 1929 zog er endgültig nach Osaka und eröffnete dort ein Dojo um sein Karate-Do zu lehren und zu verbreiten. Meister MABUNI begründete seine Methode ausgehend von den zwei verschiedenen Lehren seiner beiden Hauptlehrer, Meister YASUTSUNE (A NKO ) I TOSU aus Shuri und Meister KANRYU HIGASHIONNA aus Naha. Im Namen Shito-Ryu sind die beiden Initialen dieser beiden Meister zusammengefügt. Durch die Verschmelzung der von diesen beiden Lehrern vertretenen Schulen, sowie durch die Integration der anderen von ihm erlernten Stile wurde das Shito- Ryu was es heute ist: Ein auf einer systematischen Trainingsmethode basierender Stil, der die Konzepte des Shuri-Ryu und des Shorei-Ryu zu einer logischen Einheit verschmelzt. Eine weitere, eher versteckte Deutung des Namens Shito-Ryu ist eine alternative, okinawanische Übersetzung von Shito (allerdings anders geschrieben) als „Tor nach China“ (Aussage von Soke Mabuni Kenei). Dieser Bezug zum chinesischen Ursprung des Karate Do von Okinawa konnte bedingt durch den japanischen Imperialismus nur versteckt erfolgen, verweist aber auch auf das Bewusstsein einer kulturellen Eigenständigkeit der Okinawaner gegenüber Japan. Das Emblem des Shito-Ryu ist das Familienwappen des Hauses MABUNI . Dieses Emblem war seit vielen Jahrhunderten das Familienwappen des Hauses Mabuni. Der Kreis kann als ein Symbol für Frieden und Harmonie ( Wa ) interpretiert werden. Die vertikalen und horizontalen Linien repräsentieren die Kaligraphie des Wortes „Mensch“ oder „Menschen“. Das Wappen symbolisiert also „Menschen die in Frieden und Harmonie arbeiten“. Soke KENWA MABUNI starb am 23. März 1952 im Alter von 64 Jahren. Sein ältester Sohn, KENEI MABUNI wurde sein Erbe und Nachfolger als Oberhaupt des Shito- Ryu. Er leitet die zentrale Schule des Shito-Ryu, Yoshu-Kan (in Osaka) und ist auch das Oberhaupt der Union Shito-Ryu Europa seit ihrer Gründung 1990. 2.2 Nidaime Soke Mabuni Kenei Soke MABUNI KENEI wurde am 13. Februar 1918 in Shuri geboren. In seiner Kindheit lernte er von seinen Vater und den vielen Karateka im Hause Mabuni die verschiedenen Stile des Karate kennen. Er wurde von seinem Vater im Karate-do und dem Ju-Jutsu unterrichtet. Neben den klassischen Künsten des Ryukyu- Kobudo erlernte er auch das Kendo von Meister KONISHI YASHUHIRO und das Ninjutsu von Meister SEIKO FUJITA . Bis zum Tode von Soke MABUNI KENWA wurde er von seinem Vater im Karate-Do unterrichtet und fungierte nach dem 2. Weltkrieg als sein Co-Lehrer im You Shu Kan Honbu Dojo in Osaka. Nach dem Tod von Soke MABUNI KENWA wurde Soke MABUNI KENEI , als sein ältester Sohn, auch der offizieller Stilerbe des Shito-Ryu Karate Do und der Nachfolger seines Vaters. Heute ist Soke MABUNI KENEI unter anderem auch technischer Berater der Japan Karate Föderation (JKF) und Träger des 10. Dan. 1993 gründete er die World Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Federation, deren Vorsitzender er ist. Soke MABUNI ist einer der letzten großen Meister des Karate-Do. Durch seine Geschichte und seine vielfältigen Erfahrungen stellt er Art wandelnde Bibliothek des Karate dar. 2.3 Shito-Ryu in Deutschland Im Rahmen seiner weltweiten Lehrtätigkeit des Karate-Do in Nord- und Süd- Amerika, Australien und verschiedenen asiatischen Ländern, hielt sich Soke MABUNI KENEI in den 60er Jahren auch für mehrere Jahre in Mexiko und Guatemala auf um dort das Shito-Ryu zu verbreiten. Dort begann auch 1965 Sensei CARLOS MOLINA das Studium des Yoshu Kan Guatemala Karate-Do Shito- Ryu unter der Anleitung von Shihan MURATA NOBUJOSHI (damals 6.Dan) und Sensei JORGE SOSA (damals 5.Dan). Seit Januar 1966 ist Sensei CARLOS MOLINA ein regelmäßiger und direkter Schüler von Soke MABUNI KENEI . Er legte seine Prüfung zum 1. Dan 1969 unter Anleitung von Soke MABUNI KENEI , ab. 1969 gründete er mit Zustimmung von Soke MABUNI KENEI das erste Shin Gi Tai Kai Dojo in Quetzaltenango (Guatemala). 1976 zog er nach Deutschland und begann mit dem Aufbau des Shin Gi Tai Kai e.V. Berlin. Aus diesem ersten Verein sind durch das Engagement von Sensei CARLOS MOLINA mittlerweile 6 Ablegervereine in Berlin, Bayern, Österreich, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und Rheinland-Pfalz mit über 200 Mitgliedern entstanden. Sensei CARLOS MOLINA ist Gründungsmitglied und Vizepräsident der Union Shito-Ryu Europa. Er ist seit 2004 Träger des 7. Dan und verfügt über eine persönliche Lehrbefähigung des Shito-Ryu Karate Do von Soke MABUNI KENEI . Im wurde auf Grund seiner langjährigen intensiven direkten Schüler-Lehrer Beziehung (mehr als 40 Jahre), der Status eines ”Ushi Deshi” (eines direkten In-Haus-Schülers) von Soke MABUNI verliehen. 3 Stilbeschreibung des Shito-Ryu Das Shito-Ryu Karate Do stellt eine Kombination der beiden wichtigsten okinawanischen Haupt-richtungen des To-De (Vorläuferform des Karate-Do) dar. Aus der Shuri-te Schule wurden die langen Stellungen, die Schnelligkeit im linearen Angriff und die physische Kraft übernommen. Aus der Shorei-Ryu Schule des Naha-te und Tomari-te wurden die runden Techniken, das seitliche Ausweichen in den Angriff, der dynamische Wechsel von hohen und tiefen Stellungen und die Bedeutung der Atemtechniken übernommen. Shito-Ryu ist daher eine schnelle, kraftvolle und artistische Stilart, die vom Wechsel von hart und weich lebt. Das System des Shito-Ryu umfasst entsprechend dieser Herkunft auch eine Vielzahl von Kata (> 60) aus dem Shorin-te, dem Naha-te, dem Tomari-te, den von Soke KENWA MABUNI entwickelten Formen sowie einigen Kata mit Ursprung im chinesischen Weißen Kranich Kung-fu und dem Bai-he-quan . Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt im Shito-Ryu liegt im traditionellen Ryukyu-Kobudo. Das Verständnis und die ständige Übung des Bunkai der Kata aus den verschiedenen Quellen macht die Reichhaltigkeit der Technik des Shito-Ryu aus. Sie stellen das „Buch” des Shito-Ryu Karate-Do dar. Als ein weiteres wichtiges Stilmerkmal des Shito-Ryu kann auch der Fokus auf die Ausweichbewegungen ( Tenshin ) und die 5 Abwehrprinzipien gesehen werden, die einen integralen Bestandteil des Shito-Ryu Trainings im Kihon ausmachen. 3.1 Tenshin Alle Kata im Karate-Do beginnen mit einer Ausweichbewegung. Diese scheinbar passive Grundhaltung enthält aber immer in der Verteidigungstechnik auch einen Gegenschlag (Konter). Also ist Verteidigung auch immer gleichzeitig Angriff. Es geht nicht darum, nach der Verteidigung zu kontern, sondern die Verteidigung selbst kann den Gegner von einem neuen Angriff abhalten, weil in ihr genau soviel Kraft steckt wie in einem Angriff. Die wirksame Anwendung dieses Prinzips soll im Karate-Do gelernt werden. So bedeutet Verteidigung nicht nur, einen Angriff zu stoppen, es gibt auch Techniken, mit denen man sich freikämpfen kann, „Uke Hazushi” , und Verteidigungstechniken, die einen Angriff umlenken, „Uke Nagashi" .

    Premier Karate Course, Leigh Sports Village, 18 th October 2009 Mention of the town of Leigh –if it is known at all– suggests images of old Lancashire. Situated to the west of Manchester, coal, Rugby League, cloth caps and cotton are the dominant images. All these motifs remain in the modern Leigh, but in a form that would be far from familiar to the town’s inhabitants from its industrial past. As one approaches the town on the A579, its undulating rollercoaster surface is testament to the subsidence of earlier mining activity. Rugby league continues to wield an important influence, but with a very contemporary feel. The old rugby club has undergone a dramatic facelift in the form of the brown-signed “Sports Village” with modern facilities, not only for the 13-man game, but also for racquet sports, swimming, aerobics and, of course martial arts. My first sight of a flat hat then was not on a middle aged man with a whippet, head bowed against the Lancashire rain. In fact as I pulled into the car park of the Sports Village the dapper figure of 9-time World Karate Champion Wayne Otto, replete with stylish corduroy flat cap, was disembarking from his car. As for cotton, the sight of 150-odd white canvas karategi greeted me as I entered the main sports hall. English National Coach Otto was one of four instructors teaching on the inaugural Premier Karate Seminar. A student of Terry Daly from the Okinawan style of Uechi Ryu, Wayne was joined by three other luminaries, each from a very different style and background.

    ČESKÝ SVAZ KARATE Zkušební řád Trenérsko-metodické komise 2017 Platnost od 10. 4. 2017 TECHNICKÁ USTANOVENÍ ( 0 1 / 2 0 1 7 ) VŠEOBECNÁ ČÁST A. Technická část zkušebního řádu určuje rozsah znalostí, vyžadovaných na jednotlivé STV Kyu a DAN. Zkušební komisař je oprávněn prověřit cvičence nejen z vědomostí vyžadovaných na příslušný STV, ale i z náplně kteréhokoliv předcházejícího STV. B. Dále může zkušební komisař upřesnit techniky, aplikace a akce, které umožní komplexně zhodnotit jeho předvedený výkon. Upřesňující techniky, aplikace a akce však musí být v souladu s nároky požadovanými na příslušný STV. Zkoušený musí znát (zpaměti) všechny techniky na dané STV Kyu nebo Dan C. Všeobecný průběh zkoušky STV Kyu a DAN: 1. KIHON: (technika - zkušební komisař náhodně vybere minimálně 1/3 technik) Každou techniku cvičenec vykonává na povel zkušebního komisaře opakovaně za sebou a s maximální koncentrací do doby, než dá zkušební komisař povel na ukončení cvičení. 2. KIHON IDO: (základní techniky v kombinacích - zkušební komisař může vybrat určité kombinace minimálně však 2/3) Každou techniku, resp. kombinaci vykonává cvičenec opakovaně za sebou v jednom směru 5x. Poslední zakončí s KIAI. Po páté technice pokračuje stejnou techniku VZAD 5x do výchozího postavení. (pokud není ve zkušebním řádu jinak např. MAWATE) Takto cvičenec vykoná všechny kombinace technik jdoucí za sebou v daném směru bez zastavení. 3. OYO IDO: (bojové kamae s technikou v kombinacích - zkušební komisař může vybrat kombinace minimálně však 2/3) Každou techniku, resp. kombinaci vykonává cvičenec s KAMAE opakovaně 2 za sebou v jednom směru 5x. Poslední zakončí s KIAI. Po páté technice pokračuje a vykoná MAWATE a pokračuje 5x do výchozího postoje.

Some Thoughts on Kata Niseishi and Goju Ryu By Stephen Hampsten The kata Niseishi, also called Nijushiho, is usually translated as “24.” I learned this kata around 1987 from my first karate instructor, Jim Knoblet, who, at the time, was teaching a Shorin Ryu-related style called Shobukan. Shobukan is a minor style taught primarily in Sasebo, Japan, near the US Naval base, which is where Jim’s teacher, Bruce Lisle, trained for 14 years.

    Los orígenes de los kata de Goju ryû Shisochin Dan Djurdjevic Miyagi Sensei. Shishochin bunkai Kenshinkan dôjô 2013 Shisochin comienza con tres posiciones sanchin dachi, esto, en principio, la hace semejante a los kata del Grupo H. Sin embargo, se aparta del Grupo H en casi todo lo demás: el kata es “simétrico” y contiene una alta proporción de técnicas “suaves”. Más aún, la apertura se hace ejecutando golpes en nukite. Aunque se dice que los kata del Grupo H se practicaban originalmente con las manos abiertas, es más probable que, al igual que ocurre en Uechi ryû, la técnica de nukite se ejecutara con la palma hacia abajo -apuntando ligeramente más abajo de la tetilla del atacante- no con la mano en posición vertical dirigida al plexo solar, como ocurre en Shisochin. Esto apunta a que Shisochin puede provenir de una fuente diferente a la de los kata del Grupo H y de la misma fuente que otros katas, como: Saifa, Seiyunchin, Sepai, Kururunfa. ¿Pero cuál es esa fuente? Como dije en la segunda parte de este artículo, Shisochin debía de existir en Okinawa antes de que Kanryo Higaonna viajara a China: hay un registro escrito de Seisho Aragaki ejecutando un kata llamado Chisakuin en una demostración realizada en 1867. Seisho Aragaki fue, por supuesto, el primer profesor de Kanryo Higaonna. ¿Podría haber enseñado Kanryo Higaonna el kata Chisakuin/Shisochin a Miyagi Sensei como un kata separado del programa? ¿O, quizá, Miyagi Sensei rescató formas que le enseñara su primer profesor, Ryuko Aragaki?, quién seguramente había conocido las formas de Seisho.

Sensei Steven Rooke and the fellow students at the Rooke School of Karate take great pleasure in welcoming you to our school. By becoming a member of our karate school, you will join an organization that takes great pride in our students and the martial arts that we learn. Since the Rooke School of Karate opened in 2006, we have been committed to building and developing our students into the best that they can be. As a student works and trains towards becoming a Black Belt, they will experience challenges, growth, progress and change within our school, as in many other aspects of their lives. We hope that you will find our karate school to be a positive experience that will influence your life and/or that of your child. Our objective here at the Rooke School of Karate is to provide you with a well structured martial arts program in a safe, positive and non-intimidating learning environment that promotes a positive attitude where students will develop their mental strength and physical endurance that will lead to greater confidence and self discipline. We offer a positive approach to a student’s success, creating attainable goals for the students in an environment that makes learning fun. In the beginning, it is always best to focus on developing a strong foundation of skill and understanding of the basic maneuvers and techniques we practice.     Ryuei-ryu Karate - Verfasst von Andreas Reifel - In der Welt des Karate gibt es heute immer noch einige unbekannte Stile und lang versteckte Traditionen. Die deutsche „Karatelandschaft“ kennt meistens Stile wie Shotokan, verschiedene Strömung des Goju-ryu und Shito-ryu, sowie Wado-ryu. Traditionelle Okinawa Stile wie z.B. Uechi-ryu, Kenju-ryu und auch das in diesem Artikel beschriebene Ryuei-ryu Karate sind in Deutschland gänzlich unbekannt. Das Ryuei-ryu Karate war lange Zeit der Öffentlichkeit nicht zugänglich, da seine primären Lehrer bis in die letzten Jahre nur Mitglieder der Nakaima Familie gewesen sind und diese ihre Kunst nicht öffentlich unterrichtet haben. Obwohl gut bekannt mit anderen Karate-Meistern, erwähnt sei hier die Freundschaft von Nakaima Kenko mit Miyagi Chojun, hielt die Nakaima Familie ihr Karate stets im Geheimen. Bis auf sehr spärliche Dokumentation bestehen bis Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts keine schriftlichen Aufzeichnungen über das Ryuei-ryu Karate. Zwischen 1877 und 1880 wurde Ryuei-ryu in Okinawa durch Nakaima Chikudun Pechin Norisato das erste Mal erwähnt. Seinen Ursprung findet das Ryuei, ähnlich dem Naha-Te Higashionnas, in Fuzhou China. Die Bezeichnung Ryuei setzt sich zusammen aus „Ryu“ = von Ryuruko hergeleitet, dem chinesischen Lehrer Nakaimas und „ei“ = einer alternativen Wiedergabe des Namens Nakaima. So ehrt der Stilname sowohl die Familie Nakaima wie auch den chinesischen Meister Ru Ru Ko ( auch Ryu Ru Ko ). Nakaima Norisato (auch Kenri genannt) wurde im Jahre 1850 in Kume (Naha) als Sohn wohlhabender Eltern geboren. Verschiedene Quellen nennen hier auch das Jahr 1819 als sein Geburtsjahr. Früh wurde von Norisato verlangt, die Prinzipien des Bunbu Ryudo zu erlernen.

    Kenwa Mabuni (1889 -1952) the Founder of Shito Ryu

    KENWA MABUNI (1889 -1952) THE FOUNDER OF SHITO RYU Master Mabuni demonstrating with Master Konishi Kenwa Mabuni, the founder of Shitoryu, although a familiar figure amongst the founding fathers of modem karate is, perhaps, the least known. Even the intentions of Mabuni's system have very little awareness of the history and development of their founding father. Mabuni began training at the age of 13, in an attempt to overcome poor health, he was immediately accepted by Master Kanryo Higaonna, the founder of the modem NahaTe system. It is said that Higaonna's methods were extremely severe, and were largely based on the practice of the "San- chin" Kata to develop the inner strength of the body and vital organs. Mertoken Yagi, one of the great Okinawan Gojuryu masters claims that Mabuni's weak constitution prevented the young man from making great progress in the Nahate system, and, ultimately, the young Mabuni switched to the Shurite system, under the guidance of Master Ankoh Itosu. There is little doubt that the young Mabuni "blossomed"into a great karetaka under Itosu's guidance, and both his technique and physical condition developed rapidly. There is little doubt that Mabuni became a kind of bridge between the two systems and he began to practice both simultaneously, a feat previously unknown. Mabuni mastered a vast amount of karate and his kata knowledge had probably never been exceeded; coupled with this he found time to study Kobujitsu under the tutorage of Aragaki and Yabiku. The most interesting influence on Mabuni was the Chinese White Crane System of Go Kenki and Mabuni incorporated the techniques and kata of this system into his own training.
