On 1 June 1889, Proceedings, 1890, 1891; the responsibility was transferred to the Departments of Kansas Carnahan, 1893 and Texas, with the dividing line being the Canadian River. The Provisional Dept. of Indian Territory & Oklahoma organized 23 June 1890, becoming a Permanent Department on 7 Aug. 1890. The Provisional Dept. of Indian Territory was separated from the Dept. of Oklahoma on 22 June 1891, becoming a Permanent Department on 3 July 1891.
