Weekly Bulletin – June 1, 2021

Until further notice we are currently meeting weekly on Tuesday, 8am-9am on Zoom

President Jennifer Van Voorhis called the meeting to order at 8:03 am with the Pledge of Allegiance, our Rotary 4-way test and Fred Cartier offered the blessing. 12 Rotarians attended this meeting: Jenn Van Voorhis, Fred Cartier, Michael Shafer, Linda Greenblatt, Bud Weaver, Dave Wright, Susan Simon, Carl Dowden, Tim Lynch, Jonah Triebwasser, Rebecca Kent & Rob Latimer.

This was our monthly club Business Meeting, followed by a Board Meeting.

Discussed today:  Letter received from School Superintendent Janet Warden thanking us for the donation of masks  There are more masks available if any group needs some  Jenn announced the 2021 scholarship winners on the Red Hook High School Zoom presentation. 3 scholarships were presented. Michael Shafer is scheduled to present 1 additional scholarship to a Stissing Mountain High School student. Total, 4 scholarships given this year!!  Jenn would like to get some 4-way test coins to give to our scholarship winners  Linda spoke about this year’s RYLA attendees (2, which is the limit) – they are VERY excited to be going (June 27 to July 1) and will be vaccinated in time for the event, as required.  Clynk update: 40 biodegradable bamboo toothbrushes have been purchased with available funds for food pantry distribution and we will continue to source environmentally friendly products for distribution  We need to publicize our club projects again, for example, Clynk, Food Pantry  Resuming in person meetings – to be discussed at Board meeting  The Citizen of the Year Dinner will take place on October 26th – nomination forms to be distributed  Review ideas for guest speakers. Even if we are meeting in person, the speaker can still present via Zoom, allowing us to have a more extensive list

District Governor Tony Marmo will be our guest speaker on June 8th

5th Tuesday meeting will be on 6/29 at the Elmendorph Green – start time, probably 5:30pm – more details to come!
