MASSES Sat Vigil: 5:15pm | Sun: 6:30am • 9:00am • 11:00am | Mon–Sat: 6:30am | Mon–Fri: 8:00am RECONCILIATION Monday through Friday: 7:30am–7:50am | Sat: 3:30pm–5:00pm PARISH OFFICE 124 N Roosevelt • Wichita, KS 67208 | Hours: 8:30am–5:00pm Phone: 316.682.4557 | Fax: 316.682.4558 | Sacramental Emergency Phone: 316.361.6015 www.blessedsacramentwichita.com ASSOCIATE APRIL 07, 2013 - SUNDAY OF THE DIVINE MERCY PASTOR’S LETTER is past week’s Easter celebration was quite beautiful. ere is something truly special about this time in the Church year. It is also a great opportunity. Renewed in our faith, bolstered by the liturgy of Christ’s resurrection, we have a new flame. A new flame that is hungry and ready to be fanned into a truly passionate faith. Conveniently enough there are some opportunities to do so here at Blessed Sacrament.

If you haven’t picked up your copy of the parish book, “Searching for and Maintaining Peace”, don’t be shy. St. Alphonsus Liguori says that the reading of holy books is as useful as mental prayer. St. Bernard says that reading instructs us at once in prayer, and in the practice of virtue. In short, if you want a vibrant spiritual life it’s important that you devote some time to spiritual reading.

e second immediate opportunity is the parish mission starting this evening at 7 p.m. and going through Tuesday evening, April 9. We are blessed to have a guest speaker, Fr. Gleason, here at Blessed Sacrament. Setting aside time each evening for the next three days is an excellent opportunity to fan the flames, practice sacrifice, and gather with your fellow parishioners. Even just one evening is a little more fuel for that fire. Finally, each Sunday is a little Easter. It’s hard to keep that in mind as we go through the year and the diff erent seasons, but it’s true. Imagine if we approached each Sunday as we did this past weekend; if we truly set it apart from the rest of the week. I encourage you to reflect on what you are doing to keep the flame alive, and not just to nurse it to next Easter, but to truly build a fire.

-Fr. Benjamin Green, Associate Pastor
