29, 2017. Johannes Gutenberg University. Philosophic THIRD EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON SOCIAL NETWORKS. EUSN 2017. SEPTEMBER 26 – 29, 2017. JOHANNES GUTENBERG UNIVERSITY. PHILOSOPHICUM. JAKOB-WELDER-WEG 18. MAINZ, GERMANY. Welcome Note Dear Colleagues, It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the Third European Conference on Social Networks (EUSN) 2017 at Johannes Gutenberg University (JGU) in Mainz. Like before in Barcelona (2014) and Paris (2016), the EUSN will present a diverse scientific program with more than 300 oral presentations and posters and around 350 participants from 35 different countries – extending well beyond Europe. We are very glad to see that the EUSN has established itself as a major conference on social network analysis in Europe. Besides the paper and poster presentations, the program includes three plenary events. Emmanuel Lazega will give the keynote lecture with the title “Networks and institution building: A neo-structural approach“, which promises new insights into institution building. In addition, two panel discussions will take place. The one on Thursday is organized by the German Society of Network Research and focuses on the importance of Simmel’s work for the field. On Friday, the conference will close with the second panel discussion about social media network data, exploring the possibilities and limitations of process-generated data for social network analysis. Two awards will be announced during the conference: the first for the best poster presentation at the EUSN and the second, sponsored by the "Sociological Network Research" section of the German Society for Sociology (DGS), for an outstanding essay on sociological network research. We would like to thank all those who contributed to the diverse and exciting program: the scientific committee including the session organizers, the workshop organizers, and all speakers, panelists and presenters. In addition, we are very grateful to the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), the Research Center of Social and Cultural Studies Mainz (SOCUM) the Internal University Research Funding at JGU for financial support and to the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA) for their endorsement. Finally, we would like to thank the Johannes Gutenberg University (JGU) for their great hospitality and tremendous support. We hope that you enjoy the scientific program as well as the social events and we express our warm welcome and wish you an exciting and productive time. NATIONAL COLLEGIATE WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS RECORDS BOOK 2016 Championship 2 History 4 Brackets 17 2016 CHAMPIONSHIP HIGHLIGHTS Oklahoma Wins Second NCAA Title: The motto for the Oklahoma women’s gymnastics squad this year was to make it count. On Saturday night, the Sooners did just that. With a 197.6750, the No. 1-seeded Sooners secured the 2016 NCAA Championship inside Fort Worth Convention Center. The title was their second all-time, with the first coming in 2014. The Super Six appearance was OU’s sixth in the last seven seasons and in each of those, OU has now finished within the top three nationally. The victory made history in the gymnastics world as Oklahoma became the first school in history to win both the women’s and men’s national titles in the same season. Earlier on Saturday night, the men’s team rolled to the 2016 crown in Columbus, Ohio. “What do you say? One of girls this morning, when she woke up, tweeted, ‘It felt like Christmas Eve last night—I couldn’t go to bed anticipating today,’ It turns out that’s exactly what it was,” 10th-year Oklahoma head coach K.J. Kindler said. “Christmas Day is always a wonderful day when you’re a kid. Today was just an amazing and wonderful day for these ladies and our entire team. They had to fight for it. We learned a lot last year, I think, and they applied it today.” No. 3 seed LSU came in second place with a 197.4500, No. 4 Alabama (197.4375) finished third and No.

2013 GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS GILL COLISEUM, OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY CORVALLIS, OREGON MARCH 23, 2013 GYMNASTICS 2013.indd 1 2/28/13 9:50 AM WELCOME I WANT TO WELCOME YOU TO THE PAC-12, a Conference steeped in tradition and focused on defining the future. We have great pride and respect for our rich history of academic excellence and superior athletic achievement. We will continue to uphold these traditions and embrace a broad-based commitment to success as we enter a new era in college athletics. Remarkable student-athletes and leaders have helped define the Pac-12 as the “Confer- ence of Champions” with 455 NCAA titles, by far the most of any conference in the country. And that does not include the 2,715 individual championships our multi-talented student- athletes have won. This talent took center stage at the 2012 London Olympics where 255 of our current or former student-athletes captured 45 medals, including 19 gold, while representing 44 different countries in 18 different disciplines. If the league were a nation, it would have ranked fifth in the total medal count and fifth in gold medals won. I am proud that with this year’s launch of Pac-12 Networks - a wholly independent con- tent organization dedicated exclusively to supporting the missions of the Conference and our member universities – the Pac-12 has made a commitment to provide all our athletic programs with the unprecedented exposure that they and their student-athletes deserve. I was a beneficiary of intercollegiate athletics and am very passionate about the mission and role sports can play as part of a broader academic experience.

NATIONAL COLLEGIATE WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018 Championship 2 History 6 National Seeds 20 Regionals 21 Brackets 44 2018 CHAMPIONSHIP HIGHLIGHTS UCLA wins women’s gymnastics national championship: it was a storybook ending for UCLA as the Bruins won their seventh national collegiate women’s gymnastics championship with a perfect 10.0000 on the final routine of the competition in St. Louis, Missouri, upending two-time defending champion Oklahoma in the process. The Sooners led the then-third place Bruins by .175 entering the final rotation, but the UCLA women would not be denied. Building on the momentum gained from senior Peng-Peng Lee’s perfect performance on the uneven bars, the Bruins moved to beam and scored a Super Six and championship record 49.7500 in the final event to win the competition 198.0750-198.0375. “This team truly is the easiest team that I’ve ever coached,” UCLA head coach Valorie Kondos Field said. “That is because this time last year we said if we need, if we want, a different result we’ve got to do things differently, and what started that was me and our coaching staff just getting real with the team about getting as physically fit as you individually can get and making choices outside of the gym, those of a champion.” UCLA’s epic final beam rotation began with a big score of 9.9375 by Grace Glenn. A fall by Olympian Madison Kocian forced the Bruins to hit on their final four routines, and Brielle Nguyen, Katelyn Ohashi and Kyla Ross stepped up to post individual scores of 9.8750, 9.9500 and 9.9875, respectively.
