Facultat de Filologia PROGRAMES D'ASSIGNATURES Curs 2007-2008 **Codi 203301** ADQUISICIÓ DE L'ANGLÈS COM A 2a. LLENGUA I 1. Objectius docents L'objectiu d'aquesta assignatura és l'estudi dels aspectes fonamentals del procés d'adquisició de l'anglès com a primera i segona llengua i de les característiques de l'interllenguatge. En acabar el curs l’alumne haurà de conèixer la terminologia bàsica relacionada amb la recerca en adquisició de llengües. Alguns d’aquests conceptes fonamentals son els següents: llengua materna o primera llengua, segona llengua i llengua estrangera, interllenguatge, adquisició / aprenentatge de llengües, innatisme, gramàtica universal, conductisme, interaccionisme, llenguatge dirigit a l’infant (child-directed speech), estadis d’adquisició i bilingüisme. L’alumne adquirirà les habilitats següents i serà capaç de: identificar els principals aspectes que intervenen en l’adquisició de llengües (especialment segones llengües) analitzar exemples reals (proporcionats a classe) de mostres d’aprenents d’anglès com a primera o segona llengua i explicar els processos d’aprenentatge recollir mostres de aprenents de forma autònoma i serà capaç de analitzar-les, aplicant els conceptes presentats a classe ser conscient del seu propi aprenentatge de l’anglès o altres llengües estrangeres i també de l’aprenentatge dels altres 2. Continguts i pla de desenvolupament Després d'una introducció a l'adquisició del llenguatge en general i a l'anglès com a primera llengua (L1), s'analitzarà l' interllenguatge i factors relacionats. Aquests continguts queden desenvolupats a continuació: -Adquisició del llenguatge: introducció. -Principals teories d’adquisició de primeres llengües. -L'anglès com a primera llengua: Característiques lingüístiques. -Input i interacció en anglès L1. -Adquisició de segones llengües i relació amb primeres. -L'interllenguatge: definició i característiques -L’interllenguatge: anàlisi de dades d'anglès L2. 3. Criteris i formes d’avaluació Els alumnes presentaran diverses tasques al llarg del quadrimestre i realitzaran una prova escrita dels coneixements teòrics del curs. Objectius docents L'objectiu d'aquesta assignatura és l'estudi dels aspectes fonamentals del procés d'adquisició de l'anglès com a segona llengua i de les variables que hi intervenen, amb especial èmfasi en l'anglès com a llengua estrangera així com una introducció a la metodologia de la investigació en adquisició. En acabar el curs l’alumne haurà de conèixer els temes esmentats i aplicar aquests coneixements teòrics a l’anàlisi de dades reals. L’alumne adquirirà les habilitats següents: Analitzar i valorar críticament els diversos factors de l’adquisició de l’anglès com a segona llengua segons diverses fonts. Transferir els seus coneixements a l’anàlisi de casos. Realitzar un estudi empíric guiat pel professor Resumir i reflexionar críticament sobre els temes proposats a través de diverses lectures 2. Continguts i pla de desenvolupament S'estudiarà la relació entre L1 i anglès L2, la rellevància de les variables de l'aprenent i les seves estratègies d'aprenentatge, el paper de la instrucció a l'aula i l'aprenentatge en contextos formals i naturals. El curs introduirà les nocions bàsiques per dur a terme investigació en aquest camp. Aquests continguts queden desenvolupats a continuació: -Influència entre primeres llengües i anglès L2. -Input, interacció i output: la llengua com a generadora de L2. -L’adquisició natural i a l’aula. Efectes de la instrucció. -L'aprenent: característiques individuals. -Estratègies d'adquisició i de comunicació. -Teories sobre l'adquisició de segones llengües. -Metodologia de la investigació en adquisició. 3. Criteris i formes d’avaluació L’avaluació es realitzarà mitjançant diverses tasques presentades per l’alumne al llarg del quadrimestre, la participació a les sessions de discussió i una prova escrita al final del quadrimestre. 4. Objectius docents Donar a conèixer les peculiaritats de la llengua alemanya oral en la comunicació dialògica, oferir els marcs teòrics que faciliten l'anàlisi i la reflexió sobre la competència comunicativa en la interacció oral en alemany (L1 i/o L2), analitzar i avaluar la interacció oral en diversos contextos. 2. Continguts i pla de desenvolupament Introducció: Què és una conversa? Aportacions de la pragmàtica, anàlisi del discurs, i l'etnometodologia. Teoria i praxis. Què passa quan conversem? Anàlisi de l'estructura i dels processos en la comunicació dialògica. Processos implicats i estratègies en la L1 i la L2. La dimensió intercultural. Com són els bons conversadors? Principis i anàlisi d'estils conversacionals. La conversa espontània i la seva simulació: la conversa col.loquial, el guió cinematogràfic, el diàleg als textos literaris La conversa dirigida en alguns dels seus contextos: l'entrevista als mass-media, la interacció a l'aula, l'entrevista de treball, l'examen oral. 3. Criteris i formes d’avaluació Al llarg del curs s'analitzaran enregistraments i transcripcions individualment i en grup, que es discutiran en sessions plenàries on s'explicitaran els criteris de valoració de l'anàlisi en referència a les lectures recomanades. S’avaluarà un mapa conceptual d’un article recomanant (15%), l’exposé oral i escrit de l’anàlisi conversacional que es vol dur a terme (15%), així com la memòria final que inclogui el debat que hagi suscitat (60%) i la participació activa presencial i virtual (10%). 4. Objectius de l’assignatura L’assignatura consta d’una introducció a la llengua alemanya que es duu a terme durant el primer quadrimestre i una presentació sumària de les aportacions més remarcables de la literatura alemanya. A la secció de llengua l’objectiu és situar la llengua alemanya en els seus trets històrics i tipològics, així com adquirir un coneixement descriptiu dels aspectes bàsics de l'estructura de la llengua alemanya que alhora permetin assolir un nivell de lectura acadèmica amb ajut de diccionari. A la secció de literatura s’assolirà una visió diacrònica general de la literatura alemanya, amb incidència sobre els autors i les obres paradigmàtiques dels diferents períodes, en el seu context històric i intercultural. 2.     Yearbook of Conrad Studies (Poland) Vol. 13 2018, pp. 17–29 doi: 0.4467/20843941YC.18.002.11237 “HE WAS ONE OF US” – JOSEPH CONRAD AS A HOME ARMY AUTHOR Stefan Zabierowski The University of Silesia, Katowice Abstract: The aim of this article is to show how Conrad’s fiction (and above all the novelLord Jim) influenced the formation of the ethical attitudes and standards of the members of the Polish Home Army, which was the largest underground army in Nazi-occupied Europe. The core of this army was largely made up of young people who had been born around the year 1920 (i.e. after Poland had regained her independence in 1918) and who had had the opportunity to become acquainted with Conrad’s books during the interwar years. During the wartime occupation, Conrad became the fa- vourite author of those who were actively engaged in fighting the Nazi regime, familiarizing young conspirators with the ethics of honour—the conviction that fighting in a just cause was a reward in itself, regardless of the outcome. The views of this generation of soldiers have been recorded by the writers who were among them: Jan Józef Szczepański, Andrzej Braun and Leszek Prorok. That was visible in the outputs of renowned Polish authors who en- dured the apocalypse of World War II and the dictatorships of the last century: Gustaw Herling-Grudziński (1919–2000), a prisoner of the Gulag in Yertsevo, combatant in the Warsaw Uprising, as well as Andrzej Szczypiorski (1928–2000), a prisoner of the Lager in Sachsenhausen, Zbigniew Herbert (1924–1998), a young poet in occupied Lviv, or those who survived Soviet occupation, e.g. Czesław Miłosz (1911–2004) and Jerzy Andrzejewski (1909–1983). What heretics can be found in their works? Jacques de Molay, a Knight Tem- plar burnt at the stake together with 36 other “relentless brothers”, Albigensians, Cathars, the related Bulgarian Bogomils in Herbert’s essays in the Barbarzyńca w ogrodzie1 volume: Obrona templariuszy and O albigensach, inkwizytorach i tru- badurach. Herling-Grudziński’s short stories featured the heretic Giordano Bruno and his spiritual ally the artist Caravaggio, e.g. in the short story Głęboki cień, the mysterious heretic from Bolsena in the short story Drugie przyjście, and the legendary St. Aaron, a former heretic, stealer of the Host, who by God’s miracle was saved from the stake in the short story Legenda o nawróconym pustelniku. Giordano Bruno was also featured in one of Miłosz’s key poems from 1943 entitled Campo di Fiori (Herling-Grudziński referred to it in his texts on Giordano Bruno), where the historical parallel became vivid during the nightmare with the burning * Professor, University of Veliko Turnovo St Cyril and St.

    RAUS AUS DEM ELFENBEINTURM! - REIN IN DEN ELFENBEINTURM! LITERATUR(WISSENSCHAFT) IN DER ZERREISSPROBE Erwartet man in der Gesellschaft von einem Slawisten als Vertreter der Geisteswissenschaften, Neu- es über den slawistischen Bestsellerautor Dostojewski zu erfahren, eventuell Aufklärung darüber zu erhalten, wie 'unser' beliebtester talk-show-Autor Andrzej Szczypiorski aus Polen Naziverbrechen be- wertet oder ganz einfach Unterhaltung durch die Gedichte des emigrierten russischen Lyrikers Iosif Brodskij, hierzulande schon seit Jahren nur mehr "Joseph Brodsky" genannt, dann wären diese Er- wartungen völlig legitim. Denn: Information, Aufklärung und Orientierung sowie kurzweilige Unterhaltung sind die üblicherweise der Literatur, aber teils auch ihrer Kritik entgegengebrachten Erwartungen.- Oder vielleicht doch nur Hoffnungen? Doch muß - keineswegs nur die slawistische - Literaturwissenschaft die Gesellschaft immer wieder darin enttäuschen, ihr all dies zu bieten. Deshalb fordert man von ihr, sie solle - wie so manche unse- rer Disziplinen - endlich ihren lebensfernen "Elfenbeinturm" verlassen! Kriecht man doch als Geisteswissenschaftler über Jahrzehnte auf der Objektebene der Vorlesungen vor sich hin, da mag es nicht von Schaden sein, wenn man sich mal kurzzeitig auf die Metaebene ka- tapultiert. Aus dieser Vogelperspektive sieht ja doch alles so ganz anders aus: Da läßt sich nicht mehr übersehen, daß von den 52 800 Buchneuerscheinungen im Deutschland des Jahres 1994 gerade mal eine bis zwei etwa mit der bulgarischen Literatur zu tun haben. Durch die Entscheidung für die Metaebene wird alles kompliziert: "In welcher Sprache soll ich zu Ih- nen sprechen?" - so läßt Johannes Bobrowski den wichtigsten Dichter der sorbischen Moderne, Ja- kub Bart, fragen: Denn sein bäuerlich-sorbisches Volk verstand seine artifiziellen Gedichte nicht. In welcher Sprache soll man sprechen? In der Literatur? In der Literatur w i s s enschaft? Natürlich in einer verständlichen - wird man zu Recht entgegnen.

Later Germans occupied it during the Second World War (1939-1945). It was liberated in 1945 by Soviet and American forces. In 1946 Communist party won the elections and occupied Czechoslovakia until the Velvet Revolution in 1989. Czech was peacefully dissolved and became the independent states of the Czech Republic and Slovakia on 1 January 1993. Modern Czech literature is divided into numerous periods like 19th century, the avant-garde of interwar period, the years under Communism and the Prague Spring, and the literature of the post- Communist Czech Republic. Milan Kundera (1929 - ) comes under the year of Communism and Prague Spring. In his two novels The Book of Laughter and Forgetting and The Unbearable Lightness of Being, he described the gloomy life of Czechs, who were under the control of Communists from 1948-1989. Pred vami je programska knjižica, v kate- ri predstavljamo delovanje Oddelka v preteklosti in sedanjosti ter pomembnejše osebnosti, zaslužne za njegov razvoj. Vsebuje tudi napoved prihajajočih dogodkov in kratko predstavitev gostujočih profesorjev, ki so se prijazno odzvali našemu povabilu. Iskrena hvala skladatelju Tilnu Slakanu za delo Wind Capriccio, napisano za Oddelek za pihala, trobila in tolkala ob častitljivem jubileju Akademije za glasbo. Skladba bo prvič izvedena na kon- certu z naslovom Preplet generacij, ki bo v sredo, 13. novembra 2019 v Slovenski filharmoniji. The goal of this study is to develop a more structured, data-based understanding of the patterns and driving forces of the translation markets across Europe. The key questions include the following: What characterizes the writers who succeed particularly well at being picked up by scouts, agents, and publishers for translation? Are patterns recognizable in the writers’ working biographies or their cultural background, the language in which a work is initially written, or the target languages most open for new voices? What forces shape a well-established literary career internationally? What channels and platforms are most helpful, or critical, for starting a path in translation? How do translations spread? The Diversity Report 2010 argues that translated books reflect a broad diversity of authors and styles, languages and career paths. We have confirmed, as a trend with great momentum, that the few authors and books at the very top, in terms of sales and recognition, expand their share of the overall reading markets with remarkable vigor. Not only are the real global stars to be counted on not very many fingers.
