BOARD OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN APRIL 24, 2000 Annual Organizational Meeting of the Board of School Directors called to order by the Board Clerk at 6:37 PM. The following members responded to roll call: Present—Directors Braun, Dannecker, Hardin, Johnson, O’Neil, Spence (6:47 PM), Thompson, Werra—8. Absent and excused—Director Gardner—1. Director O'Neil was elected temporary Chair by unanimous consent. ELECTION OF BOARD PRESIDENT Director O'Neil, having assumed the Chair, announced that the next order of business was the election of a President to serve for the ensuing year. ELECTION OF BOARD VICE-PRESIDENT The President announced that the next order of business was the election of a Vice- President, to serve for the ensuing year. DESIGNATION OF BOARD CLERK The Chair announced that the next order of business was the designation of a Board Clerk to serve for the ensuing year. Dr. Suzanne M. Lundin was designated Board Clerk for the ensuing year by unanimous consent. APPOINTMENT OF REPRESENTATIVE TO THE LIBRARY BOARD President Thompson indicated he chose not to serve as the Board’s representative on the Library Board and nominated Director Braun to continue as the Board's representative. April 24] 3 [2000 APPOINTMENT OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE MILWAUKEE AREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE APPOINTMENT COMMITTEE Director Braun moved that Directors Gardner and Johnson and Ms. Sherry Street and Ms. Trina DeLeone-Simpson be appointed to the Milwaukee Area Technical College Appointment Committee. The appointments were approved on the following vote: Ayes—Directors Braun, Dannecker, Johnson, O'Neil, Spence, Werra and President Thompson—7. Noes—Director Hardin—1. APPOINTMENT OF REPRESENTATIVE TO THE WISCONSIN ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL BOARDS Director Dannecker was appointed the Board’s representative to the Wisconsin Association of School Boards by unanimous consent. APPOINTMENT OF REPRESENTATIVE TO CESA #1 Director Braun moved that Director Hardin be appointed as the Board’s representative to CESA #1. The appointment was approved on the following vote: Ayes—Directors Braun, Dannecker, Hardin, Johnson, O'Neil, Spence, Werra and President Thompson—8. Noes—None.
