FRIDAY: THE THREE APOSTLES • Jesus Asks Peter, James, And John To Watch And Wait While He Prayed. 35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples. 40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and indeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? (Mt. 26:35, 40)

THE ALARM • Jesus Begins To Be Deeply Depressed And Troubled, Saying His Soul Was Overwhelmed With Sorrow To The Point Of Death. 37And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me" (Mt. 26:37, 38). 33And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. 34Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch". (Mk. 14:33.34).

THE AGONY

1. JESUS’ FIRST (Mt. 26:39) • The Struggle: “Father, if it be thy will, let this cup pass from me”. • The Submission: “Nevertheless, not my will be done, but thine.” • The Sleepers: Jesus finds the three apostles asleep. 2. JESUS’ SECOND AND THIRD (Mt. 26:42, 44) • Similar circumstances as in the first prayer.
