The 99th Annual Fisherman’s Feast was held on the weekend of August 13th through the 16th in the North End. The feast kicked off with the statue of La Madonna Del Soccorso Di Sciacca carried in solemn procession to the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, accompanied by the Italian-American Band and the North End Italian Band for the annual blessing of the Boston fishing waters. The weekend included the Sorrento Cheese building contest, live entertainment and great food! The grand finale of the weekend was the statue of the Madonna returning to North Street after the day long procession. She was greeted by a crowd of enthusiastic spectators waiting for the Famous Flight of the Angel. This year’s flying angel was Vitianna Mary D’Amico (shown in photo) with side angels Diana Karamourtopoulos and Caira Rose D’Amico. (Photos by Ross Photography) (More photos on Page 7)

The Madonna Della Cava Feast was celebrated on August 7th through the 9th in Boston’s North End. To accomplish these vital constitutional purposes, the enumeration should count only citizens and persons who are legal, permanent resi- dents. However, it will not. The result will uncon- Friendship stitutionally increase the number of rep- resentatives in some states and deprive some in other states of their rightful po- litical representation. Citizens of “loser” states should be outraged. Yet few are even aware of what is going on. Dr. Elizabeth Grieco, chief of the Census Bureau’s Immigration Statistics Staff in a Join Us For Our recent interview indicated that the Cen- sus form does not ask about citizenship because the “Congress has not asked us to do that.” Last Few Days! This deceitful act by the Democratic con- trolled Congress confirms my contention in my recent editorial, “Kennedy’s Reform Bill” in which I state; Look for an Obama Enjoy proposal to put millions of illegal aliens on a path to amnesty, this census appears to be an avenue in that direction. The Southeastern Legal Foundation informs me; Obama has illegally and un- constitutionally seized control of the 2010 Census and attacked its independence. The Census is a source of unrivaled power … it will decide the fate of thousands of political offices and trillions of dollars in government money … and Obama is mak- ing an outrageous bid to manipulate it to guarantee a permanent liberal takeover of America (sounds like they have been read- ing my editorial in the Post-Gazette). The American people have to act now to stop the Hijacking and the only possible way to do it is to leave the taking of the census in responsible hands, this could be accom- plished as Freshman Congressman Jason Chaffetz from Utah proposes, he is propos- ing we would save taxpayers millions, and it is a great idea.
