Royal Cambrian Academy of Art • EXHIBITION, 1965 28th July - 4th September National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth 4th October - 23rd October Cyfartha Castle Museum, Merthyr Tydfil Royal Cambrian Academy of Art • EXHIBITION, 1965 28th July - 4th Septernber National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth 4th October - 23rd October Cyfartha Castle Museum, Merthyr Tydfil Foreword This is the third exhibition of works by members of the Royal Cambrian Academy to be shown at the splendid Gregynog Gallery of the National Library of Wales, indeed, it is becoming an annual event. This is indicative of the growing importance of our nat ional Academy. During 1965 the Academy has an exhibition in Patagonia and Buenos Aires, the annual show at Plas Mawr, Conway, and this present exhibition, which will proceed to the Cyfarthfa Castle Museum, Merthyr Tydfil, from 3rd to 23rd of October, 1965. The Council of the Academy are seeking a wider coverage for the Annual Exhibition and are firm in their opinion that it should be shown in our capital city of Cardiff but the problem is to find a suitable gallery. It has been suggested that the top floor of the new wing of the National Museum would make an excellent National Gallery for the display of periodic exhibitions of Welsh art, by the Royal Cambrian Academy, Arts council of Great Br,itain, and other groups or societies. The artist of today will produce the museum pieces of tomorrow, meantime, he must live! The Council of the Academy wish to acknowledge with gratitude the help given by the officers and staffs of the National Library and the Cyfarthfa Museum in organizing and hanging this exhibition.
