Fishfriendly Innovative Technologies for Hydropower D1.1 Metadata
Ref. Ares(2017)5306028 - 30/10/2017 Fishfriendly Innovative Technologies for Hydropower Funded by the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme of the European Union D1.1 Metadata overview on fish response to disturbance Project Acronym FIThydro Project ID 727830 Work package 1 Deliverable Coordinator Christian Wolter Author(s) Ruben van Treeck (IGB), Jeroen Van Wich- elen (INBO), Johan Coeck (INBO), Lore Vandamme (INBO), Christian Wolter (IGB) Deliverable Lead beneficiary INBO, IGB Dissemination Level Public Delivery Date 31 October 2017 Actual Delivery Date 30 October 2017 Acknowledgement This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and inno- vation program under grant agreement No 727830. Executive Summary Aim Environmental assessment of hydropower facilities commonly includes means of fish assem- blage impact metrics, as e.g. injuries or mortality. However, this hardly allows for conclusion at the population or community level. To overcome this significant knowledge gap and to enable more efficient assessments, this task aimed in developing a fish species classification system according to their species-specific sensitivity against mortality. As one result, most sensitive fish species were identified as suitable candidates for in depth population effects and impact studies. Another objective was providing the biological and autecological baseline for developing a fish population hazard index for the European fish fauna. Methods The literature has been extensively reviewed and analysed for life history traits of fish providing resilience against and recovery from natural disturbances. The concept behind is that species used to cope with high natural mortality have evolved buffer mechanisms against, which might also foster recovery from human induced disturbances. -
Microhabitats and Fragmentation Effects on a Ground Beetle Community (Coleoptera: Carabidae) in a Mountainous Beech Forest Landscape
Turkish Journal of Zoology Turk J Zool (2016) 40: 402-410 http://journals.tubitak.gov.tr/zoology/ © TÜBİTAK Research Article doi:10.3906/zoo-1404-13 Microhabitats and fragmentation effects on a ground beetle community (Coleoptera: Carabidae) in a mountainous beech forest landscape 1,2, 1,2 1 Slavčo HRISTOVSKI *, Aleksandra CVETKOVSKA-GJORGIEVSKA , Trajče MITEV 1 Institute of Biology, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia 2 Macedonian Ecological Society, Skopje, Macedonia Received: 10.04.2014 Accepted/Published Online: 12.08.2015 Final Version: 07.04.2016 Abstract: The aim of this investigation was to analyze the effects of microhabitats and forest fragmentation on the composition and species abundance of a ground beetle community from three different beech forest patches on Mt. Osogovo (Macedonia), as well as to analyze the mobility (based on mark-recapture of individuals) and seasonal dynamics and sex ratio of the ground beetle community. The study site included three localities (A, B, C), one of them fragmented (A), with four microhabitats (open area, ecotone, forest stand, and forested corridor). Ground beetles were collected using pitfall traps during four sampling months (June–September 2009) that were operational for three continuous days per month. Species richness, abundance, diversity, homogeneity, and dominance were compared between the localities. Dissimilarities in carabid assemblages between localities and microhabitats were analyzed with Bray–Curtis UPGMA cluster analysis. In total 1320 carabid individuals belonging to 19 species were captured. The carabid assemblage structure of the continuous forest locality was substantially different from the other two smaller forest patches, indicating that microhabitat structure affects ground beetle communities through changes of species composition and richness. -

The authors present the first collection of the rare old-growth forest polypore Aurantiporus alborubescens in the Carpathians, supported by a description of macro- and microscopic features. Its European distribution and ecological demands are discussed. LSU rDNA sequences of the collected material were also analysed and compared with those of A. fissilis and A. croceus as well as some other polyporoid and corticioid species, in order to resolve the phylogenetic placement of the studied species. Based on the results of the molecular analysis, the homogeneity of the genus Aurantiporus Murrill in the sense of Jahn is questioned.
Magyar Malakológiai Bibliográfia (1727–2004)
01_cikkek.qxd 2005.11.21. 10:00 Page 5 MALAKOLÓGIAI TÁJÉKOZTATÓ MALACOLOGICAL NEWSLETTER 2005 23: 5–129 Magyar Malakológiai Bibliográfia (1727–2004) Varga András, Fűköh Levente & Krolopp Endre Az első Magyar Malakológiai Bibliográfia 1983-ban a Budapesten megrendezett Unitas Malacologica Kongresszus alkalmával jelent meg, Merényi László szerkesztésében. (sic!) címmel a Malakológiai Tájékoztató 11. (1992) kötetében. A fentiekben megjelent munkák óta eltelt közel negyed század ismét felvetette az igényt, hogy készüljön egy új, részben eltérő szerkesztési elveket követő munka, melynek céljai közt szerepel, hogy egyrészt összevonja a MERÉNYI, PERJÉSI & HORVÁTH féle össze- állításokat, másrészt az anyagot 2004-ig bezáróan kiegészítse az időközben megjelent dol- gozatokkal. -
