Amiry’s presentation will trace her journey since arriving to Palestine in 1981, and her lifelong mission to document, restore and protect 420 Palestinian villages in 16 districts across the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza. Amiry is also an award-winning memoirist and author of several architecture books. Her most recent book, Peasant Architecture in Palestine: Space, Kinship and Gender, was published in 2018. Her best- selling book, Sharon and My Mother-in-Law, was awarded the prestigious Viareggio Prize in 2004 and has since been translated into 19 languages. She has published several other non- fiction books including Menopausal Palestine, Nothing to Lose but Your Life: An 18 hour Journey with Murad, Golda Slept Here, and My Damascus. The Arabic translation of My Damascus is expected to be published in early 2019.
