Il identifie, recense et classe les jeunes dirigeants africains de 40 ans et moins, appelés à jouer un rôle majeur dans le développement économique du continent dans un avenir proche. Fruit d’un travail mené sur plusieurs mois, l’Institut Choiseul a fait appel à de nombreux experts et spécialistes du continent pour réaliser cette étude ambitieuse et unique en son genre qui dresse un état des lieux des forces vives de l’économie africaine. Méthodologie de l’étude Un projet en trois phases Travaux préparatoires Réalisation de l’étude Publication et diffusion Hiver 2014 Automne 2015 Déroulement de l’étude La réalisation de l’édition 2015 du Choiseul 100 Africa a été conduite en toute indépendance par l’Institut Choiseul entre l’hiver 2014 et l’automne 2015, articulée de quatre étapes principales : - la définition de la méthodologie et des objectifs ; - l’actualisation du classement 2014 ; - la recherche et la sélection de nouveaux profils ; - la validation et l’élaboration du classement final faisant ressortir les 100 jeunes leaders économiques africains les plus prometteurs. Conditions d’admissibilité Seuls les profils répondant à certaines conditions ont été retenus : - avoir la nationalité de l’un des 54 États africains ; - être âgé de 40 ans ou moins au 1er janvier 2015 ; - avoir une contribution active dans le développement économique de l’Afrique. 4 Critères de sélection Afin de classer les profils retenus, plusieurs critères pondérés ont été pris en compte tels que : l’image et la réputation, le parcours et les compétences, le pouvoir et la fonction, l’influence et les réseaux, le potentiel et le leadership. La somme des points obtenus dans les différentes catégories de critères précitées détermine la place de chacun des lauréats dans le classement final. Les profils ayant obtenu moins de 10 % dans l’une des catégories sont éliminés. Les 100 premiers sont classés de la 1ère à la 100ème place. Dans l’étude globale, disponible sur le site de l’Institut Choiseul (www.choiseul.info), une seconde liste recense les profils classés entre la 101ème et la 200ème place. L’étude étant arrêtée au 30 juin 2015, les évolutions professionnelles postérieures à cette date n’ont pas été prises en compte.
