PHD COURSE IN MUSIC THERAPY RESEARCH UNIVERSITY November 10-14 2019

CONTENT OF THE COURSE The aim of the course is to train doctoral researchers with advanced theoretical, technical, methodological and applied clinical research knowledge in the field of music therapy research and hereby assure scientific rigor. The course will include a rich mixture of course work and cover topics related to methodology, epistemology and theory of science with working methods consisting of workshops, round table discussions, lectures, and presentations of research in progress. For more information: www.mt- phd.aau.dk/forms-guidelines/phd-course/. Teaching at the course will, among others, be undertaken by professor Hanne Mette Ridder and Stine Lindahl Jacobsen. Participants at the course are Aalborg PhD students, however we also welcome external PhD students as well as clinicians who are considering setting up at research study. Credits: 5 ECTS.

VENUE The course will take place at Klitgaarden Refugium (http://www.klitgaarden.dk/kontakt.htm ) from Sunday to Thursday. The detailed time schedule and programme will be uploaded at www.mt-phd.aau.dk two weeks prior to the course.

ACCOMMODATION During the PhD course, PhD students will stay at Klitgaarden from Sunday to Thursday. PhD students are welcome to arrive earlier and stay longer, but will for this arrange accommodation themselves. See e.g. www.visitaalborg.com. Klitgaarden is a wonderful place for a working retreat. The house is situated at the very North of , 1.15 hours’ drive from Aalborg. If you are in Aalborg latest at 14:00 we will arrange transportation for you to Klitgaarden and back on Thursday after 16:00. Klitgaarden, meaning "The House" in Danish language, is the former summer residence of the Danish royal family; close to the beach and close to , Denmark's northernmost town. The house was designed by for King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine and completed in 1914. It is now owned and run by a trust and serves as a retreat for artists and scientists.

FEE and REGISTRATION For registration, please contact programme director, Hanne Mette Ridder (HMR). The fee for participation at the PhD course is 5,500 DKK, including accommodation and all meals. Registration is complete when the fee is paid. The number of attendees is limited, so registration is based on a first- come, first-served basis. 50% of the fee is refundable until October 30. Hereafter the fee is not refundable.
