What to Prepare: 32-bars of contemporary ; memorized. No selections from The Last Five Years; however, other selections are encouraged! An accompanist will be provided; please no recorded karaoke tracks.

Arrive at the Studio Theater to fill out an audition form, turn in a resume (optional) and sign-up for a time-slot for that evening. Closed auditions will begin shortly after 6:30pm. You may be asked to read a selection from the script immediately following closed auditions. Callbacks will consist of selections from The Last Five Years and that material will be individually e-mailed prior to callbacks on Wednesday, November 18th.

PRODUCTION TIMELINE Rehearsals Sunday through Thursday, 6:30pm – 9:30pm Subject to change, depending on availability.

CHARACTER INFORMATION This modern musical ingeniously chronicles the five year life of a marriage, from meeting to break-up (Jamie) and from break-up to meeting (Catherine). A very conceptual and artistic take on this uniquely crafted musical that showcases trained singers. Set in and , present day. “Suggested” age range for both characters is 25 – 35 years old.

Catherine “Cathy” Hiatt (Mezzo-Soprano; F3–D#5) – An optimistic actress from Ohio, struggling to find work in New York City. Arcs from a woman stunned by a betrayal and a divorce that she is only beginning to understand to an ambitious, fresh-faced girl in a new relationship.

Jamie Wellerstein (Tenor; A2–Bb4) – A charming Jewish writer that has plenty of experience with women. Arcs from an ambitious guy on a promising first date with a dazzling writing career to someone who is blinded by success and ego. He is very lovable, yet makes unintentional choices that sabotages his own happiness.
