Alex Louwe Kooijmans Alex Louwe Kooijmans is a project leader with the International Technical Support Organization (ITSO) in IBM ITSO Project Leader, Java, Poughkeepsie, NY, and specializes in SOA technology and solutions on System z® . He also specializes in SOA and application modernization application modernization and transformation on z/OS, both from an architecture and a tooling perspective. on System z He has organized various marketing, education and technical sales seminars, forums and roadshows around the world in relation to System z. Previously he worked as a Client IT Architect in the Financial Services sector with IBM® in The Netherlands, advising financial services companies on IT issues such as software and hardware strategy and on demand. Alex has also worked at the Technical Marketing Competence Center for zSeries® and Linux® in Boeblingen, , providing support to customers starting up with Java™ and WebSphere® on System z. From 1997 to 2000, Alex completed a previous assignment with the ITSO, managing various IBM Redbooks® projects and delivering workshops around the world.

Christian Skalberg Christian Skalberg has worked for IBM for more than 45 years - 40 of which have been with databases on IBM Consulting IT Specialist, z/OS or MVS. He is a Consulting IT Specialist with Software Group doing services in the Nordics. He DB2 for z/OS specializes in DB2 for z/OS performance monitoring and tuning, recovery/restart, disaster recovery and data base design and is the co-author of two IBM Redbooks. He enjoys a fair bit of Assembler Language coding for exits in various IBM products which seems to be a growing part of his time.

Emily Farmer Emily Farmer is a senior engineer/analyst in the IBM Software Group Competitive Project Office. She spent IBM Senior Software Engineer the first ten years of her IBM career working in collaboration and middleware software development and management then joined the CPO in 2005. Her research has run the gamut from applications to servers to storage. She has focused on collaboration solutions comparisons, cross-platform TCA/TCO analyses, consolidation algorithms, and mainframe re-hosting issues. Emily's expertise lies in articulating for customers and IBMers alike the undeniable benefits of smarter computing with IBM software and IBM hardware. She is currently focused on zEnterprise and mainframe evangelism, and delivers this message to IBMers and customers around the world.

Hans Essoussi Hans Essoussi is a Senior IT Specialist focusing on Tivoli Security. Hans has 20 years of experience in IBM Certified IT Specialist software development and has been working in the Nordic market for more the 10 years. He is currently Tivoli Security located in Stockholm.

Hans P. Thomsen Hans Peder Thomsen currently works in Tivoli technical sales in IBM . He has been with IBM for IBM Consulting IT Specialist almost 30 years and has worked on Tivoli service management solutions for the last 17 years. His areas of expertise include Automation, Job Scheduling, Event management, and Cloud solutions, with a special focus on the zSeries platform. Henrik Grönberg Henrik Grönberg is with IBM Sweden. He has worked for IBM for 17 years in various technical positions. For IBM System z Information the last decade, Henrik has been specialized in storage and information management. He is a Senior Certified Infrastructure I/T Specialist and now holds a position as Client Technical Architect at IBM Systems & Technology Group focusing on IT infrastructure.

Karl-Erik Rasmussen Karl-Erik Rasmussen has 41 years in IT, including experience in nearly all disciplines, including operations, IBM Software Sales planning, application programming, system programming, and now specializing in the Performance, Availability, Optimization, and Automation areas. Karl-Erik has worked with the IBM Tivoli brand since IBM's acquisition of Candle in 2004 and he currently has a primary focus on ISV migrations.

Karl Gustav Siik Karl Siik has been a member of the GDPS development team for the last five years. Before joining the GDPS IBM GDPS Developer team, Karl had over 15 years of experience with IBM mainframe computers and has held various positions within IBM ranging from batch and system operator to z/OS systems programmer.

Knud Vra Knud Vra has 30 years of experience with the IBM System z mainframe, and has worked in system IBM Systems Programmer administration, application programming, and quality assurance on z/OS and z/VM. He is involved in the IBM Enterprise System z Academic Initiative, teaching z/OS and other System z-related subjects at Danish Technical University (DTU). Knud is currently working with z/OS and WebSphere Application Server on z/OS.

Martin Packer Martin Packer is working in the IBM Worldwide Banking Center of Excellence; Martin has over 25 years of IBM Mainframe Performance mainframe experience, consulting with customers in many countries and industries. He has contributed to a Principal - Worldwide Banking large number of Redbooks, most recently "Batch Modernization on z/OS", and presented at numerous Center Of Excellence, zChampion conferences on topics such as Batch Performance, Parallel Sysplex, Memory Management, DB2 Performance, DFSORT usage, and CPU Reporting. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Math and Physics and a Master's Degree in Information Technology, both from University College .

Mattias Haern Mattias Haern works in technical pre-sales, responsible for some of Red Hat's larger customers in the Nordic Red Hat region. He has been with Red Hat since 2006, and meets with customers, prospects and partners on a daily Solutions Architect basis, discussing how Red Hat products and services can help solve some of their IT problems. This of course includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux on System z. He has a broad experience with UNIX/Linux as well as the high-availability and storage areas from his prior pre-sales and consultancy roles at VERITAS Software and Sun Microsystems.

Nigel Williams Nigel Williams is a Certified IT Specialist working in the IBM Design Center, Montpellier, France. He Certified IT Specialist, IBM Design specializes in CICS integration technologies and service-oriented architectures. He is the author of many Center papers and IBM Redbooks publications, and he speaks frequently on CICS and WebSphere topics.

Octavian Lascu Octavian Lascu is an IT Infrastructure consultant who has spent 22 years in IT. He has specialized in IBM IT Specialist zManager virtualization technologies for System z, POWER Systems, and System x configurations. Octavian has over 20 years of experience in designing, maintaining, managing, and supporting hardware configurations for complex IT environments, including performance and availability. He teaches extensively, leading hands-on workshops for clustering and virtualization technologies around the world. His areas of expertise also include storage and networking virtualization integration and management.

Paul Carruthers Paul Carruthers has worked on System z CICS Technical Support teams, at IBM and various other IBM CICS and WebSphere companies, since 1990, gaining a vast amount of experience in installing, customizing, and rolling out base Business Events Development CICS and associated software tooling. Paul joined IBM in January 1998 in the Outsourcing division and in 2002, he moved into the Software Group. His current role involves working with both the CICS and WebSphere Business Events development labs to develop and enhance their products, and in assisting clients, at both technical and business levels, in positioning and migrating to an IBM offering. Paul is an original member of the IBM Global Business Integration (WebSphere) Tiger Team for CICS Transaction Server, CICS Tool suite, and WebSphere Business Events.

Per Rosenquist Per Rosenquist works for IBM Denmark in System z presales in the Systems and Technology Group. He has IBM IT Specialist, zChampion more than 30 years of experience in working with IBM System z mainframes, mainly with z/VSE, z/VM, and Linux on System z. Prior to joining STG, Per worked in IBM Strategic Outsourcing as a Systems Programmer and a Technical Solution Manager.

Peter Schouboe Peter Schouboe has worked in IT since 1987 including more than 11 years of experience as a DB2/z DBA, IBM Information Management on and Application Architect. For the last decade Peter's focus has been on Information Management solutions, System z, Nordics mainly directed to the mainframe platform. He has been with IBM Sales and Distribution for four years, working on Information Management solutions across the Nordic territory. His formal education is Datanom, from Copenhagen Business School, which has been supplied with modules from the Danish IT University, ITU.

Steve Speller Steve Speller has been in the IT/mainframe business for 35 years. His IT career started at an IBM Rocket Software UK Ltd, manufacturing site in the UK in 1976. When DB2 V1 was deployed at the site in 1983, Steve became the development and operational DBA. Following a short spell in IBM UK DB2 Technical support, Steve joined the IBM Software Business as a Technical sales support specialist, then in 2000 he moved to European support for DB2 Tools. Steve left IBM in 2010 and joined Rocket Software, which develops some of the DB2 (and IMS) tools for IBM, as field product specialist.

Thomas Esser Thomas Esser is a member of the newly formed European IMS Architecture Team. Thomas has specialized in IBM IT Specialist IMS IMS and IMS Tools over the past 25 years, both as an IMS customer and within IBM and other vendors. Thomas is a regular presenter at GSE and University/High school programs, particularly focusing on new IMS and IMS Tools features and their implementation.

Tommy Joergensen Tommy Joergensen is a Senior IT Specialist working in the Software Group Nordic in Technical Presales IBM Senior IT Specialist, CICS & supporting System z software, specializing in WebSphere and CICS products. He has more than 30 years of WebSphere experience with CICS and more than 10 years of experience with WebSphere on System z. More recently, Tommy has been working in PSSC Montpellier supporting System z software and new workloads on System z. He has co-authored several IBM Redbooks publications and participated in ITSO workshops.
