FY 2010 Recreational Grant Awards by County

Ada County-$130,458  Ada County will receive $119,458 from the Recreational Trails Program for trailhead/interpretive kiosks located at the Oregon Trailhead.  Ada County will receive $11,000 from Waterways Improvement Fund for 2 PWC and equipment to be used countywide.

Adams County-$64,632.90  Payette National Forest will receive $26,321.90 from the Recreational Trails Program for a trail construction located in Bear Basin.  Friends of the will receive $38,311 from the Recreational Trails Program to construct a restroom, trail and well at the Wye Trailhead.

Benewah-$31,052  Coeur d’Alene Tribe will receive $22,252 from the Recreational Trails Program for trailhead amenities for the Plummer trailhead.  Bureau of Land Management Coeur d’Alene Office will receive $8,800 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund to seal coat/stripe Huckleberry Campground.

Bingham County-$100,064.37  Bingham County Sheriff’s Office will receive $12,613.87 from Waterways Improvement Fund for docks at Sportsman Park.  Bingham County Parks & Recreation will receive $77,800 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund for RV sites/water system/shop at Sportsman Park.  Bingham County Parks & Recreation will receive $5,650.50 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund to purchase a lawn mower for North Bingham County.  Bingham County Parks & Recreation will receive $4,000 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund for picnic shelters at McTucker Ponds.

Blaine County - $73,384  Blaine County will receive $48,684 from the Recreational Trails Program for a groomer building and tools for Bellevue.  Sawtooth National Recreational Area will receive $24,700 from Motorbike Fund Program to reconstruct W. Fork Big Smoky Trail.

Bonner County-$610,684  Panhandle National Forest will receive $28,116 from the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Fund Program for Trestle Creek trailhead parking.  City of Sandpoint will receive $99,200 from Waterways Improvement Fund for a transient moorage/jetty for City Beach.  Bonner County Sheriff’s Office will receive $40,000 from Waterways Improvement fund for a marine maintenance/storage building in Sandpoint.  Bonner County will receive $59,412 from Waterways Improvement Fund to replace docks at Hope Launch.  Bonner County will receive $302,316 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund to rehabilitate Bonner County Fairground Campground.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation – Priest Lake will receive $81,640 from Recreational Vehicle Fund for vault toilets at Lionhead Campground.

Bonneville County-$314,352  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $12,000 from the Recreational Trails Program to reroute and improve Water Canyon Trail.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $14,000 from the Recreational Trails Program to realign/rehab Hunts Corral Trail.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $52,500 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund Program for a water system rehab at Falls Campground.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $35,000 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund Program to re-drill a well/pump at Blowout Campground.  Bonneville County Parks & Recreation will receive $28,000 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund Program to seal coat road at Juniper Campground.  Bonneville County Parks & Recreation will receive $3,200 from the Recreation Vehicle Fund.  City of Ammon Park & Recreation will receive $94,752 from the Land & Water Conservation Fund Program to expand parking lot at Petersen Park.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive 6,900 from the Motorbike Fund Program to repair South Fork Fall Creek Trail.  Bonneville County Parks & Recreation will receive $68,000 from the Motorbike Fund Program for 3 bridges for Barnes Creek.

Boundary County-$167,615  Idaho Panhandle National Forest will receive $27,540 from the Recreational Trails Program to rehabilitate Goat Mtn. Trail.  Idaho Panhandle National Forest will receive $38,375 from the Recreational Trails Program to rehabilitate Myrtle Lake Trail.  Boundary County will receive $37,000 from Waterways Improvement Fund for restroom/parking/docks repairs at Copeland.  Boundary County Sheriff’s Office will receive $21,000 from Waterways Improvement Fund for a tow/vehicle/equipment to be used countywide.  Idaho Panhandle National Forest will receive $43,700 from the Motorbike Fund Program for Switchbacks and tread for the Sidehill Trail.

Butte County-$68,500  Salmon Challis National Forest will receive $68,500 from the Road and Bridge Fund Program for road maintenance at Arco Pass.

Cassia County-$92,994  Cassia County Sheriff’s Office will receive $18,000 from Waterways Improvement Fund for a tow vehicle to be used countywide.  will receive $34,349 from Recreational Vehicle Fund for a portable water system at Howell Canyon.  Sawtooth National Forest will receive $16,600 from Recreational Vehicle Fund to develop Porcupine Springs Campground.  Sawtooth National Forest will receive $24,045 from Recreational Vehicle Fund to delineate F.S. Flats Campground.

Clearwater County-$279,192  Idaho Fish & Game Lewiston’s office will receive $200,000 from Waterways Improvement to construct 55 acre reservoir at Deyo Reservoir.  Clearwater National Forest will receive $40,000 from Recreational Vehicle Fund to improve Aquarius Campground  United State Army Core of Engineer – Dworshak will receive $39,192 from Recreational Vehicle Fund to asphalt Dent Acres Campground.

Custer County-$249,458  Great Basin Institute will receive $40,886 from the Recreational Trails Program for signs/kiosks and maintenance at Challis.  Great Basin Institute will receive $34,761 from the Recreational Trails Program to construct trail and staging area for the French Creek Trail.  Great Basin Institute will receive $102,313 from the Recreational Trails Program for trail construction, signs and kiosk at the Bayhorse Trail.  Bureau of Land Management Challis office will receive $11,500 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program for bighorn viewing sites/displays access at the Land of the Yankee Fork  Bureau Land Management Challis Office will receive $59,998 from the Motorbike Fund Program for OHV Training site at Challis Bridge.

Elmore County-$467,503  City of Glenns Ferry will receive $94,098 from the Recreational Trails Program to construction a trail in Glenns Ferry.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation – Three Island will receive $150,000 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program to harden Trail Side Campground.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation – Three Island will receive $100,000 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program for a pump and irrigation system at Wagon Wheel Campground.  will receive $39,128 from the Motorbike Fund Application to rehabilitate Hot Creek Trail.  Sawtooth National Forest will receive $84,277 from the Motorbike Fund Application to construct and widen W. Fork Kelly Creek Trail.

Fremont County-$220,690  Bureau of Land Management Idaho Falls Office will receive $70,000 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program for 16 electrical pedestals at Egin Lakes Campground.  Bureau of Land Management Idaho Falls Office will receive $144,690 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program to asphalt – parking and road at Egin Lakes Campground.  Fremont County Parks & Recreation will receive $6,000 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program to install a pump at Frome Park.

Idaho County-$185,433  Clearwater National Forest will receive $35,500 from the Recreational Trails Program to construct and reconstruct the Feather Creek Trail.  Clearwater National Forest will receive $26,700 from the Recreational Trails Program to reconstruction the Garnet Creek Trail.  Clearwater National Forest will receive $6,033 from the Recreational Trails Program for trail maintenance and signing at Lolo Pass.  Nez Perce National Forest will receive $110,000 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund Program to reconstruct Red River Campground.  Clearwater National Forest will receive $7,200 from the Off Road Motor Vehicle Fund Program for the reconstruction Upper Canyon Trails.

Jefferson-$47,887  Jefferson County will receive $47,887 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program to improve Jefferson Lake Campground.

Jerome - $6,000  City of Hazelton will receive $6,000 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program for a RV Dump & Road Improvement at Hazelton.

Kootenai County-$331,817.50  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation - Farragut will receive $10,000 from the Recreational Trails Program for a vault toilet at the Corral Arena area.  Backcountry ATV Association will receive $4,559 from the Recreational Trails Program for a utility trailer and trail maintenance at the Fernan District Trail.  Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office will receive $24,548 from Waterways Improvement Fund for a boat house at Spokane River @ Templins.  Idaho Fish & Game Coeur d’Alene’s office will receive $120,000 from Waterways Improvement Fund for a boat launch site expansion at Spirit Lake.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation will receive $31,000 from Waterways Improvement Fund for a double vault toilet at the Eagle Boat Launch.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreational – Farragut will receive $25,000 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program for living pads at Waldron Campground.  Kootenai County Park & Water will receive $78,850 from the Road and Bridge Fund Program to asphalt parking access at Hauser Lake.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation – Farragut will receive $31,000 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund Program for a double vault toilet for the Corral Campground.  Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office will receive $6,860.50 from the Motorbike Fund Program for motorcycles/trailer/gear.

Latah -$76,352  City of Moscow will receive $76,352 from the Recreational Trails Program to purchase land and construct a trail at Paradise Park.

Madison County-$7,395  Madison County will receive $7,395 from the Recreational Trails Program to purchase tools for the groomer shop located in Rexburg.

Minidoka County - $150,000  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation – Lake Walcott will receive $100,000 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program to resurface Lake Walcott road.  City of Heyburn will receive $50,000 from the Land & Water Conservation Fund Program for a arboretum at Heyburn.

Nez Perce-$197,610  Nez Perce County will receive $77,205 from Waterways Improvement Fund for ADA restroom/fire protection/lighting at the Southway boat ramp.  City of Lewiston will receive $120,405 from the Land & Water Conservation Fund Program to design and construct a skate park at Lewiston Kiwanis Park.

Owyhee-$337,482  Great Basin Institute will receive $45,393 from the Recreational Trails Program for kiosks/signs/markers for the Murphey Sub Region.  Great Basin Institute will receive $76,836 from the Recreational Trails Program for a parking and staging area for the Murphey sub Region.  Great Basin Institute will receive $61,968 from the Recreational Trails Program for a single track restoration and maintenance for the Murphey Sub Region.  Shoshone Paiute Tribes will receive $58,285 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund Program to improve Mtn. View Reservoir Campground.  Idaho Park & Recreation Department- Bureau Dunes will receive $95,000 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program for 2 CXT’s/electric Design at Bureau Dunes.

Shoshone County-$33,000  Idaho Panhandle National Forest will receive $33,000 from the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Fund Program for trail restoration at Slate/Beaver Creek.

Statewide-$199,200  Idaho State Snowmobile will receive from the Recreational Trails Program $39,200 for signs/markers/poles to be used statewide.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation will receive $30,000 from the Motorbike Fund Program for the statewide OHV Ambassador Program.  Idaho Department of Fish & Game will receive $30,000 from the Motorbike Fund Program for the statewide OHV Media Campaign.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation - Statewide will receive $100,000 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund Program for Interpretive/Education Projects.

Teton - $39,198  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $10,131 from the Motorbike Fund Program to reconstruct/re-route Pine Creek Pass.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $29,067 from the Motorbike Fund Program for a bridge and trail align for the Red Creek Trail.

Valley County-$1,972,487  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation - Ponderosa will receive $25,580 from the Recreational Trails Program for a bicycle/pedestrian trail at the Lakeview Trail.  City of McCall will receive $8,919 from the Recreational Trails Program to construction the Spring Mountain/Samson Trail.  Valley County will receive $48,711 from Waterways Improvement Fund to a patrol boat to be used countywide.  Boise National Forest will receive $330,875 from Recreational Vehicle Fund to reconstruct Silver Creek Campground.  Boise National Forest will receive $108,809 from Recreational Vehicle Fund to improve Westside Lake Cascade Campground.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation – Cascade will receive $1,200,000 from Recreational Vehicle Fund Program to renovate Poison Creek Campground.  Valley County will receive $100,000 from the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Fund Program for storage/education building at Cascade.  City of McCall will receive $14,750 from the Road and Bridge Fund Program to improve intersection at Lick Creek/Davis Ave.  City of McCall will receive $75,000 from the Land & Water Conservation Fund program to purchase land at Riverfront Park.  City of Cascade will receive $59,843 from the Land & Water Conservation Fund Program to redevelop Armstrong Park.

Washington County-$16,594  Friends of the Weiser River will receive $16,594 from the Recreational Trails Program for a well, kiosk, bike rack at the Presley Trailhead.

Multi County-$1,002,477  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $20,000 from the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Fund to reconstruct Boundary Trail.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation – East Region will receive $175,000 from the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Fund Program for the Ashton-Tetonia Rails to Trails.  Clearwater National Forest will receive $7,382 from the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Fund for Snowmobiles/Motorcycles/Trailer for the counties of Latah/Clearwater & Benewah.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $15,000 from the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Fund Program to purchase 4 snowmobiles to be used district wide.  Idaho Panhandle National Forest will receive $12,000 from the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Fund Program for mechanical trail brushing to be used at Shoshone & Kootenai Counties.  Boise National Forest will receive $20,000 from the Motorbike Fund Program for heavy trail maintenance/signing for the Mountain Home Ranger District.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $14,000 from the Motorbike Fund Program for heavy trail maintenance at Big Hole Mountain.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $20,000 from the Motorbike Fund Program to relocate the South Fork Bear Creek Trail.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $5,000 from the Motorbike Fund Program for exclosure gates at Burns Black Coalmine.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $11,891 from the Motorbike Fund Program for trail maintenance at Montpelier/Soda Springs.  Boise National Forest will receive $7,629 from the Motorbike Fund Program for signs, trail, rehab and education at the Idaho City Ranger District.  Corp of Engineer – Lucky Peak will receive $77,900 from the Road & Bridge Fund Program to stripe/seal parking and access.  Friends of the Weiser River will receive $33,160 from the Recreational Trails Program to construct and repair the Galloway Dam.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $15,000 from the Recreational Trails Program for trail maintenance for the Bonneville/Madison counties.  Idaho Panhandle National Forest will receive $37,500 from the Recreational Trails program to reconstruct Grouse Mtn. Trail.  Sawtooth will receive $7,000 from the Recreational Trails program to purchase pack/saddle stock for the Custer/Elmore/Boise/Blaine counties.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation – East Region will receive $250,000 from the Recreational Trails program for decking, safety rails and signs for the Ashton-Tetonia Trails.  PANTRA will receive $3,523 from the Recreational Trails Program for trail equipment and maintenance for the Kootenai/Benewah, Shoshone, Idaho and Clearwater counties.  Payette National Forest will receive $15,944 from the Recreational Trails Program to purchase signs for the West Zone location.  Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation – Trails Program will receive $210,000 from the Recreational Trails Program to replace a groomer for the Fremont/Madison and Cassia counties.  Caribou-Targhee National Forest will receive $30,950 from the Recreational Vehicle Fund to renovate Montpelier and Soda Springs Ranger District Campgrounds.  Boise National Forest will receive $13,598 from the Motorbike Fund Program for maintain the Lowman Trail.
