TEGNA Completes Successful move of KHOU to a New State- of-the-Art facility

Today, TEGNA’s KHOU Television celebrated its move to a brand new, state-of-the-art digital facility across Houston from their previous building which had been flooded by Hurricane Harvey. KPRC, the CBS affiliate, maintained their on air presence during the transition by originating news and program material from KUSA, their station in Denver, and WFAA, their Dallas Fort Worth station. They restarted local news programming out of an unused studio at the local PBS station, KUHT. News programing was coordinated and switched out of a production truck that had been specifically rebuilt by BeckTV to support automated, large market news production. In parallel with the move of the station’s news operations, BeckTV began work on KHOU’s new facility near the Houston Galleria. The modern and attractive station sports two studios, two automated control rooms, an open collaboration space for all content producing departments, technical operations, sales and executive offices. BeckTV consulted, designed the technical plant and performed the integration work for KHOU and TEGNA.
