Smart Response to Participate in 2018 Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day All Hands and Hearts - Smart Response to Participate in 2018 Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day All Hands and Hearts Co-Founder, Supermodel and Philanthropist Petra Nemcova, to Represent Disaster Relief Organization NEW YORK, NY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2018 – All Hands and Hearts - Smart Response, the leading disaster relief organization powered by volunteers, has been chosen to participate in the 2018 Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day, which started in honor of the 658 Cantor Fitzgerald friends and colleagues and 61 Eurobrokers employees who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Cantor Fitzgerald and its affiliates, BGC Partners and GFI Group, in conjunction with the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, donate 100% of their global revenues during Charity Day to participating charities. The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund invites celebrity guests from a wide range of industries to work with licensed brokers to raise funds. All Hands and Hearts co-founder, supermodel and philanthropist Petra Nemcova, will be representing the organization at the 2018 Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day. In 2017, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) appointed Nemcova, a tsunami survivor herself, as the UN’s first World Tsunami Awareness Advocate. Petra Nemcova said, "We are thrilled to once again be participating in the Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day. As we continue to work in communities that have been affected by natural disasters, it is imperative that we recognize the need for long-term response in order to help those in need.” All Hands and Hearts - Smart Response was formed in 2017 by All Hands Volunteers and Happy Hearts Fund, two organizations that have provided relief to those who have been impacted by natural disasters for more than a decade. As a result of the merger, All Hands and Hearts has rebuilt 219 schools and impacted nearly 1.2 million individuals. All Hands and Hearts currently has hurricane relief programs in Puerto Rico, Texas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the British Virgin Islands, and Dominica, earthquake relief programs in Nepal, Indonesia, and Mexico, and a tropical storm relief program in Hawaii.     2018 Annual Report Letter From Founder & Executive Director Dear Friends of CLF, When we began this journey in 2012, we couldn’t have imagined where we would be in five years. We are pleased to report that 2017 and 2018 together marked a significant period of growth and innovation for the Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF). We have streamlined our programming to focus on education and emergency response while significantly increasing our impact in each area. We proudly supported students from Central and South America to attend university, successfully installed the final piece of equipment in our state-of-the-art oncology center in Barbados, and responded quickly to the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti as well as hurricanes Irma, Harvey and Maria. We also deepened our education work by extending programs from the Caribbean to Malawi to enable thousands of girls to attend secondary school. We firmly believe in the power of having local impact, taking care to tailor our approach to address the unique needs of the communities in which we work, but we also work strategically to address issues and challenges at a global level. In 2017, we joined forces with Global Citizen and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) to advocate for and unlock hundreds of millions of dollars to support access to education for children across the globe. Our work in the advocacy space will continue to be a priority for the foundation in 2019 and beyond.
