EXAMPLE: To call the Government Printing Office ond the extension number is known, you would dial 888-149-3875. When the extension number is not known, dial 888.-149-0. To call a number in Washington other than a Government AQency, dial 888-100 and give the operator the local WashinQton number. EXAMPLE: Dial 888-100, ask for RE 6-1000. 3. Calls to Other Cities - Dial "O" or "8-0", as applic:able, and place the call with MSC Operator, giving the following information: a. Name of person placinQ ca 11 b. Calls originating when the switchboard is closed will be charQed to WA 8-281 l. Operator is to be instructed to quote time and charQes to the MSC Operator on the next work day. OriQinator will also report the call to the MSC operator. TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALLS Conference calls on incoming and outgoing calls can be arranged by qivinq the MSC operator the names and the extension numbers of the parties desired. TRANSFERRING CALLS If it is desired ,to transfer an incominq outside call to another extension, depress the button in the receiver cradle of the telephone uru,. t.i= onl,, to signal the operator. CHANGES IN TELEPHONE SERVICE OR EQUIPMENT Reqcest for installation or modification of telephone equipment will be sub mitted to Telecommunications Branch, extension 5325. ATTACHMENTS TO TELEPHONES The telephone company furnishes all equipment necessary to provide tele phone service. In the interests of safety and good service, no equipment, apparatus or device, not furnished by the telephone company may be attached to, or used or connected with its facilities, except as otherwise provided in the telephone company's tariffs. Under no circumstances will any personnel move, add additional equipment, alter, or repair a telephone or its associ ated equipment. REPAIR SERVICE Report telephone trouble to Extension 3100. VISITORS' CALLS Visitors may place lonq distance Collect calls with the MSC operators. If they want to pay for the cal I, they must use a pay station. CHANGES IN TELEPHONE DIRECTORY LISTING Any chanQes or corrections in the telephone directory I isting should be sub mitted to Telecommunications Branch, Headquarters Bui ldinq, Extension 532: SWITCHBOARD OPERATION Operation of Switchboards by other than authorized personnel is strictly forbidden. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS 1. MSC facilities are presently located in 15 buildings or building complexes. All facilities except the VA Building are serviced by a Central Switchboard which may be reached by dialing WA 8-2811. The VA Building can be reached by dialing CA 4-5701. III 2.
