NEFYN HOLIDAYS 2021 The Only Independent, Local Holiday Cottage Agents For The Llyn Peninsula About Nefyn Holidays............. WE ARE THE ORIGINAL NEFYN HOLIDAYS! You’ll see lots of references to “Nefyn Holidays” on various Google searches, as more and more of our larger competitors try to muscle in on our success and unique local expertise and experience. However, there is only one Nefyn Holidays and that is this one! We are the original and, proud to say, still the best! Established in 1970, and run by the current partners, Jean Bunford and Gwerfyl Thomas, for the past 32 years, we are now the only local independent agency left on LLyn. We live and work on our smallholding in beautiful unspoilt surroundings, and we do all that we possibly can to lessen our impact on the local environment: solar power produces all our daytime energy requirements and hot water; we use low energy lighting; we recycle everything we possibly can; use double-sided printing to save paper; and the office woodburner still runs on logs from trees felled during the 2014 hurricane. Even our office vehicle, a diminutive bright yellow Fiat Panda Cross 4x4 (an absolute necessity in winter given the steepness of our drive) is one of the smallest and greenest cars on the road. Working from home enables us to keep a firm control over our overheads: we maintain our own web site (complete with secure online booking); and carefully target our advertising campaign to reach a specific market. All of this allows us to work on a more modest commission when compared with our competitors and ensures that our prices are kept affordable for all. Whilst good old-fashioned values are at the core of our business, there is nothing old-fashioned about the way we work. Just take a look at our website www.nefynholidays.co.uk and you’ll see what we mean. ISLE OF ANGLESEY COUNTY COUNCIL Report to Executive Committee Date 14.1.2013 Subject Consultation draft Preferred Strategy Document Portfolio Holder(s) Cllr. Robert Ll. Hughes Lead Officer(s) Jim Woodcock Contact Officer Nia H Davies 01286 679890 Nature and reason for reporting To request that the Committee endorses the draft Preferred Strategy document prior to its release for consideration and approval by the Council on the 24th January 2013. A - Introduction / Background / Issues The Preferred Strategy is a vital stage in the long journey to prepare the Local Development Plan (LDP) with Gwynedd. The Strategy has been drawn-up following a number of opportunities for full participation by Ynys Mon Councillors At this stage the Council is being asked to adopt the Strategy for the purposes of public consultation. Views expressed during the public consultation period will help inform the preparation of a more detailed plan called the Deposit Plan which will set out the strategy, including strategic policies, as well as detailed planning policies. The Deposit Plan is due to be considered by Council later on in 2013. Introduction The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires the Council to prepare a Local Development Plan (LDP) for the development and use of land over the plan period and its policies to implement them. This Council has decided to work with Gwynedd Council to prepare a Joint LDP. Regulation 15 of the Local Development Plan Regulations requires that, before finally determining the content of its Local Development Plan (LDP) for deposit, a Council must publish its pre-deposit proposals for public inspection and comment.

LL53 6EG XXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX www.tydoctor.wales.nhs.uk 10 April 2017 Dr Dai Lloyd Mr Rhun Ap Iorwerth National Assembly for Wales Cardiff Bay CARDIFF CF99 1NA Annwyl Dai a Rhun, Thank you for coming up to Caernarfon to meet with us last week. I hope you found it informative and useful for your ongoing enquiry. My name is Arfon Williams and I have been a General Practitioner in Nefyn for the past 22 years. Unfortunately, I am the sole partner in the practice, caring for about 4300 patients, extending along the north tip of the Llyn Peninsula from Aberdaron to Clynnog Fawr. We have found it very difficult to recruit and we have had to change our whole work model in order to continue to provide a service to our patients in a safe way. The last two years have been incredibly difficult, and without the support of my excellent staff, it would have been virtually impossible for us to carry on. We have made some significant changes to the way we provide medical care, in that we have changed our skill mix, capacity, working day etc. I enclose a letter that I sent to the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to explain to them the methods we have introduced in order that they might be able to disseminate that information to help others in a similar predicament. To the best of my knowledge, I do not think that this information has been shared (which is disappointing).

Taith Pererin 2 Basingwerk Abbey Saturday 3

Taith Pererin 2 Basingwerk Abbey Saturday 3 May - Departure Over 20 Pilgrims and supporters have set off from Basingwerk Abbey this morning after a few words of prayer led by Chris. We stop at Pantasaph Priory for lunch, then continue via the Roman Pharos in Coed y Garreg and the magnificent Celtic cross at Maen Achwyfan, to Llanasa, where we take a rest in the memorial garden by the church before continuing to Trelawnyd, which we reach about 5:30. A long first day, highlights including orange-tip butterflies in the woods above St Winefride's Well, the first early purple orchid, gorse now in flower everywhere and an imminent explosion of May blossom. These two scents will now accompany us for the next 11 days as we make our way steadily westwards. We now have our Pilgrim Passports, and Jenny nobly carries the new stamps in her rucksack. These will, in due course, be left in churches and communities, shops, pubs, cafés for all to record their progress along the Way. It's an early (8:30) start from Trelawnyd tomorrow, due to the need to be in St Asaph Cathedral by 3:30 for the service marking the culmination of the Diocesan Year of Pilgrimage. Sunday 4 May - Howard's Tree It's an earlier start this morning after the now customary transport shuffle. We leave Trelawnyd at 8:30 and make better progress than yesterday, soon reaching the top of Rhuallt Hill. There are some really eccentric garden ornaments around Rhuallt - one chap has a Spitfire and a dinosaur (which has acquired a baby since last year), while his neighbour has (among others) John Wayne on horseback, Barack Obama on a park bench, three Jedi Warriors and King Kong.

4.0 the Llŷn Peninsula – a Special Place!

4.0 THE LLŶN PENINSULA – A SPECIAL PLACE! 4.1 Introduction 4.1.1 The Llŷn Peninsula was one of the first areas in Britain to be designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty back in 1956. To the present day, there are only five AONBs in Wales - the others are Anglesey, Clwydian Range, Gower Peninsula and Wye Valley. 4.1.2 The main basis for designating part of the area as an AONB in 1956 was the natural beauty of the landscape and coast, wide-ranging views and the undeveloped nature of the area. These features continue to make the area special, but for the purposes of the Management Plan, it is important to attempt to make a more detailed analysis of the area’s special features and define all of its qualities. 4.1.3 When we refer to “qualities”, this is a reference to the feature or element of the area’s character that is special, unique or “valued”. After identifying and defining the special qualities, we can proceed to measure the size and condition of these features (and the resources that are part of them), including measuring what changes have occurred over time and continue to happen. 4.1.4 Some of the area’s qualities will continue to be relatively unchanged, such as the beautiful landscape and varying coastline as they are based on the area's geology and vegetation. However, in the case of some qualities there has been some deterioration over time, such as a reduction in the size and quality of habitats, wildlife and historical buildings.
