Abstract: Detailed geological mapping contributed towards the tectonic framework of the Kala Chitta Range for the purpose of a compressive knowledge of the mode of occurrence of the Fire Clay horizons in the Datta Formation .Furthermore, detailed analytical work was carried out to elucidate the mineralogy of the Fire Clays.
