MULTISPORT IN TORRES DEL PAINE (5D/4N) 4N Chile Nativo Riverside Camp Start /end Puerto Natales You will have the chance to explore the less visited areas of Torres Del Paine National Park with the companion of great guides and spending the nights away from the busy Refugios in a secluded & comfortable riverside camp. You will start with a off the beaten hike all the way to a working Estancia. Ride on strong Criollo horses, experiencing the Gaucho culture of Patagonia, Hike the lookout point to the famous towers in the Ascencio Valley, the French Valley with the impressive hanging glacier and paddling among floating icebergs in front of the Glacier and follow the Grey River all the way to our Camp. Day 1 Transfer to Torres del Paine – Full day hike off the beaten path At 7:30 we pick you up at your lodging in Puerto Natales. Our transfer takes us along an unpaved road heading to Torres Del Paine. When entering the Park, we will have excellent picture taking opportunities of guanacos (llama family) and Grey foxes, driving alongside lagoons frequented by Chilean flamencos and black-necked swans. We will start a hike on a one-way path with panoramic glimpses of the park. According to the season we should be able to see specific flowers such as orchids, calceolarias, and neneos or maybe even experience the flight of the condor. Once we are at the highest point of the trail we connect to the rarely visited trail heading to Estancia Lazo and its Hosteria Mirador del Payne, which are located outside the park. The Estancia Lazo, it is a huge cattle center dating from the last century, with magnificent views of the Paine Massive and Laguna Verde. We will drive through the main areas of the park all the way to the Serrano River where we will stay in our Chile Nativo camp, enjoying a gourmet dinner. (2 hours by transfer, 5 hours hiking, 20 minutes transfer) (BL-D) (Night at Chile Nativo Riverside Camp) Day 2 Full day horseback ride to Tyndall Glacier Lookout point We will ride to an unexplored valley at the border of Torres Del Paine national park. We cross several rivers and go through a landscape filled with lakes and wetlands, constantly being surprised by the changing views of the Paine massif and the last glaciers of the Southern Ice Field. Will get to a lookout point of Tyndall Glacier and we will ride back on a different path following the shore of the Serrano river with great views of the Paine mountains and we will make a short stop at the Salto del Rio Serrano, a great waterfall before we get back to the Riverside Camp. (6 hours, slow riding, trotting and cantering) (B-BL-D) (Night at Chile Nativo Riverside Camp) Day 3 Transfer to Lake Pehoe – Round trip hike to French valley We will take a short transfer to the Pehoe pier and take a catamaran across the Pehoe Lake. From here we commence our out and back trek to the French Valley. We will start going around the southwest side of Paine Grande, the highest summit in the Park, through native forests of fire bush and evergreen beech (Nothofagus Bethuloides), up to the hanging bridge over the French River to observe the first glimpses of the hanging glacier. Then we will ascend (300m) for one hour amidst a surreal Japanese garden landscape, crossing beech forests, to reach a viewpoint, gifting us with magnificent panoramic views, where we enjoy a good lunch. Our way back will be through the same track, spending our second night in the camp. (30 minutes by private transfer, 35 minutes by catamaran, 7-8 hours hiking, 17 KM) (B-BL-D) (Night at Chile Nativo Riverside Camp) Day 4 Full day Sea Kayaking at Lake Grey & Grey River Early in the morning we will take a transfer all the way to Lago Grey. While enjoying the view of Paine Grande and Glacier Grey, our guide will give a brief explanation of safety and instructions for paddling efficiently. You will navigate the lake and river for approximately 2 hours, all the while paddling through floes of ice that have descended from Glacier Grey. These icebergs are scattered throughout the lake and are sculpted into incredible shapes by the wind and sun, before being pushed to the shores of the lake. During the entire navigation, we will have an amazing view of the magnificent Paine Massif; including Paine Grande, the Cordillera Olguin, and Los Cuernos (The Horns of Paine). These mountains, together with the multiple tones of turquoise water, make for a perfect contrast with the enormous walls of granite and sedimentary rock. After paddling in Grey Lake, we will begin the descent of Grey River. The river serpents through deep canyons with steep rock faces, creating sections of rapids that are exciting and entertaining. We will have the opportunity to appreciate many different species of aquatic birds that inhabit the river, including the peculiar Spectacled Duck and Torrent duck. We will continue to paddle next to the Paine Massif for 25 km, the length of Grey River until it joins with the turquoise water of the Serrano River. After paddling for 4/5 hours, the adventure comes to an end at our camp (30 minutes by transfer, 4-5 hours paddling, 25 KM) (B-BL-D) (Night at Chile Nativo Riverside camp) Day 5 Transfer to Las Torres - Round trip hike to Las Torres lookout point We will start our last day trekking to the base of the Towers, following the Ascencio River to enter the Ascencio Valley. Our walk will be uphill for one hour before stopping to observe the first glimpses of the valley surrounded by unbelievable beech forests (Nothofagus family), glaciers and waterfalls. We’ll continue through the valley for another hour and a half before ascending a huge terminal moraine to a lookout (900 M), excellent for picture taking. This amazing view will be accompanied by lunch to add to the enjoyment. After being awed by the towers we’ll start our descent, following the same path back to the transfer. Later we will take a transfer back to Natales.
