Thereby, TAA has a deep background thanks to its experience and intellectual knowledge gained through the activities in the fields of aeronautics and astronautics since 1925.hgjghjghjghjgfhdfghdfgdfgsdgfdghgsdjfgsdjfhjksdhcjzskhjskhxjh University of Turkish Aeronautical Association is the first university in Turkey having 4 campuses in 3 cities in Turkey. With its multi-campus environment, it is one of the few universities providing aeronautical practices such as mutual training flights. University of Turkish Aeronautical Association has Turkey’s biggest squadron for aviation training with its 77 hi-tech planes. UTAA provides various and high quality experiences to its students with the variety of planes in its squadron. University of Turkish Aeronautical Association is the first and only university in Turkey specializing in aviation and aerospace.bvhjvhjvhjvhjvhjghjghjghjghjgfgfghfhjgfhjgfgfhj The need for qualified, educated manpower in the field of aeronautics increases the importance of UTAA. The relations of the university with private sector help its graduates to get a job easily.gvhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhlklşjlghjghjghjgfhgfdhdffghsdfhh With its 2 airports (Etimesgut-Ankara and Selcuk-İzmir), 6 full capacity aerodromes (to be used as training laboratory), and 2 operator towers with ILS equipment (Etimesgut-Ankara and Selcuk-İzmir) UTAA is the best university in Turkey having the largest and the most robust substructure in Aeronautics. HISTORY Turkish Aeronautical Association aimed to become the center of production and training activities of aeronautical practices and went into action to transfer the years of intellectual knowledge to the academic basis in order to accomplish this goal. A different Turkey, which can produce and export aircrafts as it used to do as well as remaining at the forefront of space research, was imagined and thought to be accomplished via a university that meets the increasing demand for qualified manpower and consists of the resources needed to support Research and Development. Activities to establish the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association were commenced in 2010. The first step was taken on April 21st, 2010 and applications were submitted to the appropriate authorities for the establishment of “Aviation Foundation of TAA”. A working team was constituted for such activities as following-up the establishment process of the university, formation of academic and administrative structures, determining the physical needs, ensuring the communication and coordination and the submission of the documents and information between the Aviation Foundation and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). After conducting researches on other universities specialized in aeronautics in Turkey and around the world, a comprehensible feasibility report regarding the establishment of a “University of Aeronautics and Astronautics” was prepared. In line with this report, the relevant application about the establishment of the first and only university in Turkey “specialized in aeronautics and astronautics” was given to the Higher Education Board on September 3rd, 2010. The proposal concerning the establishment of “University of TAA” was negotiated, accepted and enacted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on February 17th, 2011. The relevant law was approved by the President of Turkish Republic and it took effect with the promulgation of the Law No. 6114 in the Official Gazette numbered 27863 on March 3rd, 2011. Taking up the mission handed down to the whole Turkish nation by our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with the saying “The future is in the sky”, the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association, aware of its responsibility as the first university in Turkey “specialized in aeronautics and astronautics”, started its first academic year in 2011 with its main campus located in Ankara. PICK UP When you arrive in Ankara, you should expect the following: If you have given your flight details, there will be an airport pick-up facility. The driver from the university together with a student representative will be waiting at the airport with your name written on a sign board. HEALTH INSURANCE According to Law no. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection, International Students, who are not covered by General Health Insurance System under Law no. 5510 on the Social Insurance under Universal Health Insurance, should have private health insurance covering inpatient/outpatient treatment and medical expenses. This means that, in order to apply for a residence permit, international students need to either purchase a health insurance in Turkey or present a social security agreement exemption document. Ankara - Hauptstadt der modernen Türkei Ankara, seit dem 13. Oktober 1923 die Hauptstadt der Türkei, liegt in Zentralanatoli- en. Historisch bekannt als Angora, ist Ankara heute die zweitgrößte Stadt der Türkei mit einer Bevölkerungszahl von ca. 5,4 Millionen. Im Jahr 1923 hatte Ankara etwa 30.000 Einwohner, 50 Jahre später 1,5 Mio. 1980 wurden 2,3 Mio. Einwohner gezählt. Im Jahr 2008 zählte die Stadt 4 Mio. Einwohner. Keine Stadtverwaltung hätte bei diesem Wachstum die Chance, im Bereich der Infra- struktur (Straßenbau, Strom-und Wasserversorgung etc.) mit dieser Entwicklung Schritt zu halten. Die Wasserversorgung stellt für die Millionenstadt mit halbtrocke- nem Kontinentalklima das schwierigste Problem dar, das aber durch das Anlegen von Stauseen, die zugleich heute auch Naherholungsgebiete sind, gelöst werden konnte. Ankara erstreckt sich über viele Hügel und Berge, tiefe, schluchtartige Täler gliedern das Stadtbild. Die Hauptstadt der Türkei liegt auf einer Höhe zwischen 850 m und 1200 m, im Bereich der Wasserscheide des südlich gelegenen Elma Daği. In Ankara herrscht kontinentales Klima vor mit heißen, trockenen Sommern (Tempe- raturwerte von 35-40°C, der Temperaturdurchschnitt liegt bei 30°C) und kalten Win- tern mit Schneefall (Temperaturen im Minusgradbereich können sogar bis -20°C in den Keller gehen, aber der Durchschnittswert liegt bei -4°C). Regenfälle gibt es meist im Frühjahr oder Herbst. Der Flughafen ESB findet sich im Norden der Stadt, ca. 25 km von der ERS, der Stadtteil Ulus ist das historische Zentrum, in dem die Zitadelle zu finden ist.

INVITED SPEAKERS 12 Years impact to health and sport past – presence - future Norbert Bachl EFSMA-President, Faculty for Sports Science and University Sports, University Vienna Since the European Federation of Sports Medicine was founded in 1997, EFSMA was developing both in the number of member countries and also in different wide spread sport medicine activities. EFSMA at the moment has 41 member countries, has excellent relations to FIMS, IOC, EOC, ECSS and other international federations and has organized through its member countries - including the European Congress in Antalya - up to now 6 successful European Congresses of Sports Medicine. One very important task is the cooperation with UEMS with the final goal to have sports medicine recognized as a specialty within the EU. EFSMA had applied to create e Multidisciplinary Joint Committee (MJC) of sports medicine within the UEMS and was successful. Then a curriculum for the education of sports medicine was worked out, which was recognized by all the sections and the respective board of UEMS. At the moment EFSMA is active to settle up all the necessary preconditions for the training centres and trainees. From the European perspective 20 European countries at the moment have sports medicine recognized as a specialty and 15 as sub-specialty, within the EU the numbers are 11 for specialisation and 7 for sub-specialisation. To be recognized within the EU, we need two fifths of the EU member countries with the specialty of sports medicine. Following these achievements, challenges and perspectives for the future are discussed with regard to the areas research, practical sports medicine, education and international relations.
