Thereby, TAA has a deep background thanks to its experience and intellectual knowledge gained through the activities in the fields of aeronautics and astronautics since 1925.hgjghjghjghjgfhdfghdfgdfgsdgfdghgsdjfgsdjfhjksdhcjzskhjskhxjh University of Turkish Aeronautical Association is the first university in Turkey having 4 campuses in 3 cities in Turkey. With its multi-campus environment, it is one of the few universities providing aeronautical practices such as mutual training flights. University of Turkish Aeronautical Association has Turkey’s biggest squadron for aviation training with its 77 hi-tech planes. UTAA provides various and high quality experiences to its students with the variety of planes in its squadron. University of Turkish Aeronautical Association is the first and only university in Turkey specializing in aviation and aerospace.bvhjvhjvhjvhjvhjghjghjghjghjgfgfghfhjgfhjgfgfhj The need for qualified, educated manpower in the field of aeronautics increases the importance of UTAA. The relations of the university with private sector help its graduates to get a job easily.gvhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhgfhlklşjlghjghjghjgfhgfdhdffghsdfhh With its 2 airports (Etimesgut-Ankara and Selcuk-İzmir), 6 full capacity aerodromes (to be used as training laboratory), and 2 operator towers with ILS equipment (Etimesgut-Ankara and Selcuk-İzmir) UTAA is the best university in Turkey having the largest and the most robust substructure in Aeronautics. HISTORY Turkish Aeronautical Association aimed to become the center of production and training activities of aeronautical practices and went into action to transfer the years of intellectual knowledge to the academic basis in order to accomplish this goal. A different Turkey, which can produce and export aircrafts as it used to do as well as remaining at the forefront of space research, was imagined and thought to be accomplished via a university that meets the increasing demand for qualified manpower and consists of the resources needed to support Research and Development. Activities to establish the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association were commenced in 2010. The first step was taken on April 21st, 2010 and applications were submitted to the appropriate authorities for the establishment of “Aviation Foundation of TAA”. A working team was constituted for such activities as following-up the establishment process of the university, formation of academic and administrative structures, determining the physical needs, ensuring the communication and coordination and the submission of the documents and information between the Aviation Foundation and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). After conducting researches on other universities specialized in aeronautics in Turkey and around the world, a comprehensible feasibility report regarding the establishment of a “University of Aeronautics and Astronautics” was prepared. In line with this report, the relevant application about the establishment of the first and only university in Turkey “specialized in aeronautics and astronautics” was given to the Higher Education Board on September 3rd, 2010. The proposal concerning the establishment of “University of TAA” was negotiated, accepted and enacted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on February 17th, 2011. The relevant law was approved by the President of Turkish Republic and it took effect with the promulgation of the Law No. 6114 in the Official Gazette numbered 27863 on March 3rd, 2011. Taking up the mission handed down to the whole Turkish nation by our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with the saying “The future is in the sky”, the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association, aware of its responsibility as the first university in Turkey “specialized in aeronautics and astronautics”, started its first academic year in 2011 with its main campus located in Ankara. PICK UP When you arrive in Ankara, you should expect the following: If you have given your flight details, there will be an airport pick-up facility. The driver from the university together with a student representative will be waiting at the airport with your name written on a sign board. The driver will take you to your accommodation of your own. Please send us the exact address and the landlord contact details if it is the case. HEALTH INSURANCE According to Law no. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection, International Students, who are not covered by General Health Insurance System under Law no. 5510 on the Social Insurance under Universal Health Insurance, should have private health insurance covering inpatient/outpatient treatment and medical expenses. This means that, in order to apply for a residence permit, international students need to either purchase a health insurance in Turkey or present a social security agreement exemption document. Please note that, to be able to get the health insurance, you need to have a tax number in Turkey. You may obtain your tax number from any tax office in Turkey. The nearest tax office to the University is Etimesgut Tax Office (İstasyon Mahallesi,Sokak No :1, Phone : 0312 245 09 05 Etimesgut-Ankara). If you are bringing your own health insurance from your home country or if you have an insurance policy that you/your home institution bought outside of Turkey and if your coverage is sufficient as you may see on the table above, your insurance policy will be approved by our university.
