Well summer has gone so we all thought but the last couple of days have been shocking. All I can say is thank goodness for air conditioning. Last month’s run was to Bribie Island. We were all concerned about the weather especially with the cyclonic winds and rough seas the coastal areas were copping from cyclone Oma. The decision was made by our vice president that our Sunday run was going ahead. It was a lovely day even though the skies weren’t looking promising. A big thank you goes to the organizers of day, the food and our awesomeness chefs for cooking all those sausages, meat patties and onions. But there was one person that stood out that day and that was our newsletter editor for all the running around you did on the day. We won’t say that you left the bread at home so a trip to Woolies to purchase more and then realizing we had no butter when all the salad stuff was being brought out and yep you guessed it (we left that at home too), so off we go again to Woolies to buy butter. It wasn’t your day was it JO ☺. I can’t forget the coffee van. Thank you for making all those coffees. I know our club members appreciated it. At our next meeting I will be asking for volunteers to get on board the All Ford Day Committee to help organize this event in July. Time is going quick and we need to start as soon as possible. Please think about it as we need new blood and the more people, we have the easier the workload will be. As mentioned in last month’s newsletter the GT Nationals will be held in 2021. We need to start forming a committee and we are wanting volunteers to put their hands up to come on board. More on this to come at our next club meeting Also, congratulations must go to our membership officer David Roads on the arrival of his new grandson baby James and big congratulations to Sasha on the birth of her little bundle of joy. I’m sure there are going to be plenty of nanas around for special cuddles. Don’t forget to check out our newsletter for upcoming events. Feel free to contact me by email [email protected] with any suggestions, complaints or compliments regarding the club. See you all at our next meeting. That’s all for now cheers. Mick. • Blower February 2020
The BLOWER JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2020 3rd place overall in the Motorsport Australia (CAMS) Australian Targa Championship TSD Trophy class. Not bad for 16yrs of age. BATHURST LIGHT CAR CLUB 416 CONROD STRAIGHT MT PANORAMA PO BOX 444 BATHURST www.blcc.com.au FROM THE EDITOR Welcome to my fourty first edition of the Blower, the Club magazine of the Bathurst Light Car Club. Well the year has certainly started with a bang after the usual slow January. A new group of members have taken up the challenge on our management team and a full program of events lies ahead of us for 2020, just check out the calendar. In this edition, we review the minutes of the last few general meetings and of course the AGM, and we look forward to our first tarmac events, rounds 1 and 2 of the NSW Hill Climb Championships. Neville Ling has scored some silverware for his immaculate LC GTR Torana and some of our Khanacross stars have done the same at the first round of the NSW Khanacross Championships with more on that story next time. The wrap from Many Hands Motorsport wrap up of the 2019 season from Steve Brumby not only gave us our cover pic, but some great insight into how the team achieved so much in a very busy year. No wonder our Club awarded them Rally Driver and Navigator Trophy’s, well done to both Steve and Heather. Bathurst Light Car Club thrives on competition, but we cannot conduct competitions unless our members contribute their time and their effort to help organise and run events.

The BLOWER COVID-19 EDITION 2020 Remember when we could do this without breaking the law? BATHURST LIGHT CAR CLUB 416 CONROD STRAIGHT MT PANORAMA PO BOX 444 BATHURST www.blcc.com.au FROM THE EDITOR Welcome to my fourty second and most unusual edition of the Blower, the Club magazine of the Bathurst Light Car Club. Please forgive my “tongue in cheek” cover this Edition I couldn’t help seeing the irony of the picture. We certainly live in a different world these days’, don’t we? I hope this publication helps to restore your faith in the fact that we will be back to pursue our passion for all things motorsport in the days or months ahead, we just have to be strong as a community to get over this thing. You President has provided details of what the Committee is up to in the meantime and you can read and see the results of the NSW Hill Climb events on the following pages. Tony Hanrahan has been busy around the grounds and provides an update on a number of members in action and Scotty Simms has provided a run down of the Gnoo Blas Motorshow. Bathurst Light Car Club thrives on competition, but we cannot conduct competitions unless our members contribute their time and their effort to help organise and run events. If you are a member and you have not put your hand up to help make your Club a success, is it time to give it a go? You might just change your life! Why not apply for a Motorsport Australia Officials Accreditation online while you are waiting to get back into action? I have included the annual calendar of events for members notation, however, there is no doubt that dates for a number of the events will need to be changed.
