TOUCH FOOTBALL On Friday 17 November our Year 7/8 Girls Touch Football Team played in the All Schools State Touch Finals after winning the Hunter Tournament. The girls were undefeated through all round games and went on to win their quarter final against Kildare 4‐3 in a very nervous and close game. This took them to the semi‐final against St Josephs College, who had nearly double the amount of players and fresh legs! The girls lost the final to St Joseph’s who went on to be convincing winners of the tournament! All girls were outstanding on the day and developed confidence and creativity in their attack play. This was one of our team goals! Congratulations to the girls on finishing fourth in NSW and producing a stellar effort, both on the park and in training leading up to the event. Special thanks to the parents who supported us on the day, and to Olivia Kakoulidis who stepped up at the last minute. Congratulations to all the girls. The team consisted of: Chloe Allan, Jorja Brown, Zali Chippendale, Lamona Faleako, Olivia Kakoulidis, Mackenzie Porter, Abby Sanderson, Tiahna Skelton, Kyah Waters and Ebony Woodcock. Miss Melanie Yorke, Touch Football Coach

UNDER 15s HUNTER CHS KNOCKOUT NETBALL A talented and determined team participated in the Hunter CHS Knockout on Wednesday 22 November. Our pool consisted of teams from Taree, Hunter Sports and Tomaree High Schools. Our first game against started very tight, with CCWC only leading by 1 at half time. The girls dug in during the third quarter and with patient and strategic play had taken the lead by 2. They kicked away in the last quarter and won the game 20‐14. The second game we came up against a red hot Hunter Sports High School Team and the news of their performance against a solid Lambton team had our girls rattled. During the first quarter our girls were over‐awed and a confident Hunter Sports took out an early 8 point lead. The second half saw this lead stretched to 11 but the girls had started to play their own game. During the third quarter we managed to stay on even terms for the quarter and the girls started playing with increased confidence. The girls played a fantastic last quarter and finished the game 24‐16. I was extremely impressed with their resilience and refusal to give up after a slow start. Our last game was against and the girls were determined to play well. They again started slow in the first half but played a much better second half tactically and won the game 30‐11. It has been a pleasure to coach such a vibrant team. Mrs Amanda Phillips Netball Coach

WOMEN’S WORLD CUP RUGBY LEAGUE GALA DAY After a very successful year the Girls Junior and Senior Rugby League teams were rewarded with an excursion to witness some of the best in the business and attend two fixtures of the Women's Rugby League World Cup. However, before watching these games, the girls had 3 games to play in the Girls Rugby League World Cup Gala Day. Ms Masters and Mrs Phillips were committed to other school events on the day, so Mr Andrew Johnson and Mr Josh Corby accompanied the girls to Sydney. The Juniors had little preparation going into their first game and had a narrow loss to St Pauls Booragul. Their next game was against a much larger where the girls came out with a gutsy win and started to show their skill. They finished the day with another win against Cronulla High School which was well deserved. Players Player: Kyah Watters Coach’s Award: Ella Moriarty The Seniors started their day against Narooma High School and although they were slow to start, they were able to get the win. The next game was against a strong outfit in Woolooware High School. The girls had improved from their first game performance but were narrowly beaten in a close result. The senior team finished off the day with their best performance against where they were convincing winners in a game where everyone played well. Players Player: Leili Mohu Coach’s Award: Skarlett Eastman As mentioned earlier, the girls then attended two games of the Women's Rugby League World Cup with England up against the Cook Islands in the first game. This was a great game which was won in the last minute of the game when the Cook Islands scored in front of the screaming school crowd. The next game was Australia versus Canada and one in which a lot of the girls were excited about. Australia were far too good in this game and were convincing winners in what was a very entertaining game. A great day out where the girls were brilliant both on and off the field. Mr Joshua Corby & Mr Andrew Johnson Rugby League Coaches
