A lot of thought and research has gone into the naming of Googong North’s streets, parks and playgrounds. So we thought we’d share the stories behind these names that may have already become such a familiar part of your life at Googong. The stories are all rooted in the region’s history. Googong’s parks, playgrounds and open spaces celebrate the rich history of the natural indigenous custodians of the land. The streets pay homage to the early settlers of the region, as well as places and personalities from more recent history. President's Report 2004-2005 Season
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS 2015 – 2016 Annual Report 2015-2016 Corporate and Government Partners Government State Sponsors National Supporters Fundraising and Partnerships National Corporate Partners. PRESIDENT Congratulations to members of Surf Life Saving Illawarra for another successful season. Well done to all our patrolling members whose efforts ensured no lives lost during volunteer patrol hours for another year. I am very proud of the hard work and achievements of each of our 17 clubs last season, thank you. SLSI recognises the following key programs, new initiatives and key achievements. Bulli SLSC won state/national Rescue of the Month Three (3) members attended lifesaving exchange program Illawarra digital radio network upgrade Nationally accredited 4WD & ATV training for Support Operation crews/ Duty Officers Multi-Agency training day involving lifesaver 1. NSW Police Rescue and NSW Maritime with Support Operations crew and Duty Officers Four (4) SLSI members attended Spinal Management training at Berkeley with NSWSES, Police Rescue and NSW Ambulance Service. Involved land base and water base activities Patrol breaches reduced from 8 in 2013/2014 season, 6 in 2014/15 season, to 2 in 2015/2016 season Improved lifesaving standards/training & equipment on beaches SLSI secured funding/grants which saw us successful in obtaining: 3 new RWC 2 new beach trailers 3 new road trailers 3 new Hytera radios 4 BlueScopeWINCommunity Partners marquees Within lifesaving the Branch has been successful rebuilding its relationships with local media with media releases regarding dangerous surf conditions, rock fishing dangers and swimming at patrolled beaches and between the red and yellow flags. Thank you to all who attended and helped make our 2015-2016 Awards of Excellence a huge success. -

We’re proud to report that over Secretary’s Remarks 98% of our eligible scholars have completed Year 12, and of Mark Scott AO these, 72% have progressed onto university. -

I have always seen Term Three as the real business end of the year for secondary schools. By the end of this term Year Twelve have completed their studies and would have graduated at their final assembly on the last day of term. So it is a time when all staff are completing courses, revising, supporting students with specific external projects and completing Higher School Certificate paperwork. I sincerely wish all of Year Twelve the best for this term and I hope that they maximise their final term of schooling. Our senior debating team this term successfully made it to the state semi-finals of the Premier’s Debating Competition. They were narrowly defeated by North Sydney Girls High School but have had amazing success reaching this stage of the competition. Debating is very competitive in this region, let alone on a state level, and I would like to congratulate the whole team – Ben Frohlich, Alena Payne, Sofia Davey, Jake Rexter and Kiera Hayden for their effort and success, as well as Ms Scobie, Ms Harrip and Alexandra Yates for their support and commitment to the team and debating at Kotara High School. -

The 2021 RAM funding represents the total 2021 funding for the four equity loadings and the three base allocation loadings, a total of seven loadings. The equity loadings are socio-economic background, Aboriginal background, English language proficiency and low-level adjustment for disability. The base loadings are location, professional learning, and per capita.
