279487115 АКТО_4 FESTIVAL FOR CONTEMPORARY ARTS TOPIC_GENERATIONS AKTO_4 Festival for Contemporary arts will be held from 12.08 - 16.08.09 in Bitola, Republic of Macedonia. Akto is a regional festival for contemporary art which includes visual arts, performing arts, music and theory of culture. The main objective of Akto Festival is to open the cultural frameworks of a modern society through “recomposing” and redifning them in a new context. The programme of the festival is based on two concepts. The frst concept is space/location_ Locations have been transformed in terms of their previous meanings. The basic idea of the festival is art pieces to come out of the standard location (galleries, museums, theatres) used for presenting art, and their setting up in new location. Re-moving of the pieces into new location transforms the piece itself (according to the parameter space). The second concept is the topic of the festival_ The topic of Akto_4 festival is Generations. The artistic pieces (according to the parameter Generations) are going to be presented in two categories: artistic pieces that have generations as a basic starting point and pieces that are transformation of an already fnished artistic forms (also according to the parameter Generations). The “new” piece is transformed from its basic form. It has new statics and dynamics. The topic Generations deals with the issue of generations and initiates several questions: Are the ties between today’s young generations with the generation of their parents broken? Are today’s young generations -

FILMS is a production company based in Barcelona, created in 2013 by Carlota Coloma and Adrià Lahuerta. They produce documentaries for cinema and other platforms, and for agencies and clients who want to explore the documentary genre in all its possibilities. Their productions have been selected and awarded in many festivals: MiradasDoc, Milano International Documentary Festival, HotDocs and DOCSMX among others. They have been selected to participate in several workshops and pitches such as: IDW Visions du Réel; Cross Video Days; Docs Barcelona. ABRA ENSEMBLE Hall I + Abra Ensemble (Performance Space Exhibition) ABRA Ensemble's works aspire to undermine existing power structures as they express themselves in the voice, language patterns and ways of speech. They seek rather communal, feminist strategies of composition, listening and creative-coexistence. Exposing the emergence of the music itself, ABRA Ensemble bridges the existing limits between contemporary virtuoso vocal art and the performative, transformative encounter with an audience. In the five years since its founding in 2013, the ensemble has performed at a diverse range of venues in Israel and Europe, released a debut album and gained considerable recognition both in the new-music and contemporary performance scene. YARON ABULAFIA Jury Member 2019 / PQ Ambassador Yaron Abulafia has designed over 200 theatre and dance performances, installations, concerts and television shows internationally. He has designed for the Netherlands Dans Theater, the English National Ballet, Rambert Dance Company, Staatsballett Berlin, Danza Contemporanea de Cuba and the Hungarian State Theatre of Cluj in Romania – to mention but a few. -

A Short Read on a Few Public Spaces in (North Macedonia's) Culture
a short read on a few public spaces in (north macedonia's) culture CULTURAL SPACES FOR a short read on a few public ACTIVE spaces in (north macedonia's) CITIZENS culture This book was produced in 2017/18, and all documents and sources cited refer to the period up to 2018 INTRODUCTION or BOOK OF WORK INTRODUCTION CULTURAL SPACES or FOR ACTIVE CITIZENS BOOK Developing models of specific public spaces OF WORK for the community “Cultural Spaces for Active Citizens”1 is a project by the organization “Lokomotiva” – Center for New Initiatives in Arts and Culture – Skopje, in partnership with “Faculty of things that can’t be learned” (FRU) – Bitola/ Skopje, and in collaboration with “Loud Textile Worker” – Shtip, “Freedom Square” – Skopje, and “Theater Navigator Cvetko” – Skopje. The project was realized within a timeframe of 15 months (May 2017 - July 2018), and was directed towards developing new models for managing and using public spaces through inclusion and integration of the civil sector and the citizens in the local communities. Namely, by creating and implementing specific methodological approaches and activities, the project aimed to raise questions about and regarding the public space, the space in culture and art; or, more specifically, its function, practice, governance, i.e. its use by the professionals in the field of culture and the citizens. These seemed to be urgent issues because several spaces were active at the time, either managed by these organizations or in close cooperation with them, and what existed as a background, but also as а certain local experience and knowledge about and for public spaces in culture, was only the inert institutional sector. -
