COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1) Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Oxford, Footpath 320/4 (Thames Path) Closure Date of Order: 8 May 2018 Coming into force: 14 May 2018 This Order is being introduced because of improvement works to the footpath/towpath which are anticipated to take 6 weeks to complete in 3 phases. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily Footpath 320/4 which leads from Folly bridge westwards to the Gas Works. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The alternative route for pedestrians affected by the closure will be signed locally via roads and the opposite river path. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (WANTAGE) (TRAFFIC REGULATION) (AMENDMENT) ORDER 20** NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the orders, due to local development and road safety reasons is: 1) to extend the 30mph speed limit on the A417 Reading Road to a point 310 meters east of Charlton Village Road/ Lark Hill roundabout) replacing the current 50mph limit, 2) thereafter to replace a further part of the 50mph limit with 40mph to a point 170 metres west of the turn, 3) to restrict the direction of traffic using the layby on the southern side the A417 Reading Road approximately 250 metres west of the junction with the West Lockinge turn, from east to west only, and 4) to extend (and make continuous) the double yellow lines (Prohibition of Waiting at Any Time) in Newbury Street northwards from opposite the junction with Ormond Street. The following orders are amended or replaced accordingly: The Oxfordshire County Council (A417 Wantage – Reading Road and Ardington, Lockinge, East Hendred and West Hendred Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 2015; The Oxfordshire County Council (Wantage) (Speed Limits) Order 2011; and The Oxfordshire County Council) (Wantage) (Traffic Regulation) Order 1994 (as amended).
