You may remember Brother Doubledee as the driver who was honored last year for the compassion he displayed in giving the shoes off his own feet to man who had no shoes he spotted while operating his bus. This time, however, Doubledee intervened in a more dangerous situation. The mayor’s commendation reads: “After witnessing an individual being attacked by three others while operating the bus, you pulled over and rushed to this individual’s side, thereby, scaring off these attackers. Thankfully, no one was injured during the course of this incident and your timely intervention was likely the key element needed to ensure the victim’s safety. “You, once again, have made our public service very proud.
