By providing scholarships, grants, and technical assistance, the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc. supports the efforts of individuals and nonprofit organizations throughout our region. Our responsible management of assets, coupled with our in-depth, holistic knowledge of the community, enables us to identify and address our most urgent needs, strengthening the social and economic health of our region.

THE COVID-19 UNITY RESPONSE FUND

The COVID19 UNITY Reponse Fund is a collaborative of funders that include the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc., Corning Incorporated Foundation, The Triangle Fund in honor of Amo Houghton, United Way of the Southern Tier, and generous local donors. It was created to support the efforts of nonprofit organizations on the frontlines of the COVID-19 that are facing increased demand for community-based human services and to invest in our essential workers.

COVID-19 MICRO-GRANTS Inspired by the way local nonprofits responded to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Community Foundation made a call to community members to share their love for these organizations by writing a love letter. Each love letter received was mailed to the nonprofit with a $100 micro-grant included. Community members were also challenged to come up with creative ways to serve the community. For each idea submitted, the Community Foundation provided a micro-grant up to $250 in support of their initiative.
